Been playing through these games for the first time in the Halo MCC and Im blown away by how much the series improved from the1st game to the second

The campaign is rough, but the online is and always will be amazing (not H2A gameplay, though).

I love Halo 2 apart from the massive difficulty curve in the second half of the game. Halo 2 Heroic any other Halo game's Legendary.

3 > 1 > 2 > the rest

Its the presentation. Although I realized that Halo 2 was remade more recently than halo 1 was, so it might not be a fair comparison. Also some of the levels in halo 1 were just insanely long

Someone is trolling, Halo 2 is the weakest of the main trilogy, and ODST is down there with it before the strong finish with Halo Reach.

Halo:CE was amazing, Halo 3 was a great ending, and Halo Reach brought it full circle.

My buddy also loved Halo 2. So much so that he stopped playing Halo after the changes going from 2 to 3. He said 3 ruined the series, but 3 is my favorite lol.

If you are comparing the remastered versions, then yeah there is a huuuuge difference in quality there. Mostly because Halo 2 was remastered for the Xbox One, while CE was remastered for the 360. Halo 2 probably had a lot more to build off of too (also the cut scenes were totally redone in Halo 2, CE just had new skins put on the existing cut scenes).

If we are rating the campaigns, Halo 2 is probably the worst storywise of the Bungie games, a few missions just feel too much like filler and don't feel part of the main story. Although I think it is still heavily underrated by a lot of people who just got pissed because they weren't playing Master Chief for half the game, after some replays the Arbiter levels are some of the best in the game.

Multiplayer, Halo 2 is my favorite, just barely ahead of Halo 3. Not having the assault rifle made the variety in Halo 2 sooo amazing, dual wielding was put on the back burner unfortunately in Halo 3 and beyond. I also loved the way the sniper handled in Halo 2. It also had the most iconic levels
