You can frequently pick up the GOTY edition in the $20 range or below, so it's a good investment if you're looking for a well-written game with fun characters and good DLC. Enough to make you forget CDPR just screwed up with Cyberpunk.

Been running around playing Gwent

It's funny, I made the comment about the Monster deck earlier after playing Yoana, but everyone else with that deck I've played since then has been pretty bad. I guess she just has a really good deck for whatever reason.

It's kind of hard to see where you're going when sailing a boat. The sail gets in the way quite a bit.

great game. I think it has the best quests and atmosphere of any rpg I've ever played

Holy shit, there was a little island in this lake with a sunken building that had like 8 chests, all with recipes and formulas. That's definitely the best loot haul I've had so far

Graham got a pretty raw deal, though. He was a nice guy.

I found an abandoned village full of foglets twice my level, with a giant locked gate and a big hole that makes creepy noises and has a bunch of blood on the ground at the bottom. This shit is seriously weird.

There are a lot if quest with no real good end. Just a less awful one.

You know, I'm pretty satisfied with the end to that questline. The Baron seems to have reconciled with his daughter and is getting help for his wife. Still feel bad about the kids, though.

Also, that fiend was gorram terrifying. It was 4 levels below me and still almost killed me in 3 hits, and it made the sky go black at one point.

Good job -- sounds like you got the good ending to the questline. If you didn't do his gwent quest by the end of the quest, IIRC, you can find his best card in the study at his house.

Oh yeah, I've been playing Gwent every chance I get. The book says there are still 9 cards left in Velen, and I'm not really where they would be.

You can buy cards from innkeepers and win some (one?) from gwent players. There's a gwent-specific questline in Velen, too, to get some good cards.

I've done the Gwent quest and bought all the cards I've come across. There are some areas on the map I haven't explored yet, but I don't see any villages there, so I don't think there would be any Gwent players.

Alright, here's a part of the map with a bunch of level 3 cannibals, and then all of a sudden there's a grave hag that's so strong it just displays its level as ?? and kills me in a single hit. This game is kind of strange with its enemy distribution.

I looked around Velen for like 2 hours going from village to village looking for people who play or sell cards. I found one merchant, but it only brought down my Velen number from 8 to 7.

I dunno, I'm just gonna go to Novigrad now. Worry about it later.

Of course the first thing I did in the city was run around and find people to play Gwent with. I can finally field a decent Nilfgaard deck, and I have quite a few Scoia'tael cards, but that deck seems gimped by its lack of spies.

Scoi'tael always felt the weakest to me. At the end of the day the key to winning Gwent is to field as many cards as possible. NR and Nilf can do it through spies. Monsters can muster. The Squirrels just don't have an equivalent.
