People probably expect them to acknowledge that they knowingly and intentionally mislead both investors and the public.

The public yes, but who knows about Investors. I'm willing to bet Investors knew exactly what was going on, at least the big money ones. They're all shady.

It was probably the investors who pushed them to release it before it was ready.

I doubt most of the investors had any idea. This was probably one of dozens of companies that they are invested in so its doubtful they knew the actual state of the game other then what management told them and the hand-picked videos they were shown.

What I want to know is of the investors who are suing, how much of the company do they own? Because I would think it would be much easier to just take over the company and fire the entire management team if they are the ones that own it anyway.

Well apparently they were being led on as much as the public was about the state of the game.

Whether that is true or not has yet to be determined, but CDPR released the game in the state that its in regardless.

More than likely the lawyers were hoping for an out of court settlement. The only people who get rich from a class action are the lawyers.

CDPR said they weren't under pressure to release the game.

Of course that could also be a lie. They've done that quite a lot.

Yeah, don't buy that for a second with the fact it was released a fortnight before Christmas.

I don't know if a class action lawsuit will actually go anywhere. CDPR almost immediately making refunds available for everyone who wasn't happy + free updates to fix the game's bugs (most of which will likely be out if this ever gets to court) will be more than enough to argue everyone who purchased was able to recoup their losses from something as trivial as "buying a bad video game" making this lawsuit at least a bit sensational.

I'd be shocked if CDPR actually lost this case, regardless of how buggy Cyberpunk was. Or if this case even made it to a trial.

I believe they're being sued by investors. Although I'm not knowledgeable about this to know if there's any sort of precedence with cases like this. They still sold 13 million copies so surely their market worth dropping rapidly is more due to investors selling their stock?
