Kingdom Rush is fun and free. Some small optional IAPs but you don't need any of it to beat the game.

Aegis Defenders is a tower defense game with some light platforming and puzzles. I enjoyed playing it

I don't know if this still holds true or not, but the best TDs used to be custom games on Starcraft 1/2 and Warcraft 3: TFT.

Not sure if those games still have huge player counts, but Warcraft 3: TFT was recently re-released and starcraft 2 is still pretty recent, although you'll probably have to get the expansions for it to be fully compatible with other players.

Ya Starcraft 2 TDs are great and Warcraft 3 TDs should still be compatible with Refunded. I mean Reforged.

Oh an the TDs for the custom maps for WC3 or Starcraft 1 (remastered) or 2 are all FREE to download. You have to purchase the base game though, but we're talking $20 here. Probably less because these are all on SALE right now on the blizzard app 50% off
