Probably, but it would look better if the population was redistributed. Corona might actually help with this by getting people out of cities.

No, but our technology needs to catch up. And we need smart politics to match that, implementing everything fairly. That's the real problem... economic inequality, selfishness, destructive behavior, selective hearing

That would probably make it worse

Cities encourage public transportation and vertical development

Suburbs are relatively inefficient (which i say as an enthusiastic suburbanite)

They would be if every single house in the suburbs was occupied, but we could probably have leftover houses if we took all the homeless in the cities and put 4 of them in each vacant house

In terms of what it could handle if everything was optimized, no. In terms of what our current infrastructure can handle when accounting for the basic quality of life necessities for everyone on earth, yes. Given that we're naturally wasteful and selfish creatures, I don't think it's realistically possible to sustain our current population or above without such a large percentage being in poverty. Even if we could, we'd be looking at some kind "restrict free will, everyone is a sheep to be herded" kind of situation.

It's in our core biology to be selfish and tribalistic. Applying that to a population of millions or billions simply makes that more evident. It doesn't matter what system we bring forth. There is no fixing that issue. The only way everyone could be happy is with an abundance of resources to the point where nobody would need to fight over them, and even then we'd fine someone being an asshole about it for some reason.

If you consider (and accept) the negative impact humans have on climate change, then yes; the world is overpopulated. What we do to house, feed and control our billions of fellow humans has a cost that includes more than just the financial side of things. Whittle those billions down to a few thousand and all of a sudden the planet (i.e. the rest of the flora and fauna of the world) wont be burdened by our overpopulation.

Now, if we are just talking about living space and not considering human comfort levels or climate change, then Hell no; the world is not overpopulated. We could get away with stacking people like sardines in gigantic, multi-tiered cage apartments and figure out ways to colonize our oceans, if we want to go that route. Almost every other animal will probably be extinct, but wed be making use of all that space they used to occupy.

I guess if you ignore all of human history in which poverty and strife have been everpresent, sure. Feel free to point out any singular point in time in which all of humanity organized to make sure everyone was cared for. Spoiler alert, it's not the fault of capitalism.

Growth =/= overpopulation and many developed countries are at stable population growth rates or even declining.

That is the evidence. If we have thousands of years of one thing (being assholes) and zero years of another thing (being collectively helpful to each other to the detriment of our own tribes), that is in fact evidence.

Okay, there's clearly no point in talking to you if you're just going to dodge the issue. We'll just end the conversation with "communism or any similar variant that relies on human decency is impossible" seeing as that's your whole MO anyway.
