How was everyone's Christmas dinner? (If you don't celebrate Christmas but you do celebrate another holiday with a big dinner, post about that.)

I made a pot roast from Omaha Steaks (I had gift cards from work), and my mother delivered some potato dumplings. It turned out well because it's hard to screw up a pre-cooked pot roast when you toss it in a Crock Pot. My brother had his daughter over, but she refused to eat either of the items (she's 4 1/2, and every bit as picky as I was). She did, however, eat candy and cake.

We were going to have biscuits and green beans to go with dinner, but my bad planning left us without a baking sheet and my brother decided that my niece wasn't going to touch the green beans. I'm slightly upset at myself because my niece might have gone for the biscuits. Oh well, next year.

Went to Christmas Eve dinner with my girlfriend's family last night, (currently in the Azores so covid isn't really a big thing), and had a very traditional Portuguese dinner, which included a lot of codfish, chicken, and rabbit, along with the customary sides.

I opted to make a massive pot of penne a la vodka because I'm sick of Portuguese food at this point, and mostly just ate that, and because there was so much food, there was more than enough left to eat it multiple times today as well.

With the people I live with, we had:

Taco casserole
Corn bread
Egg rolls
Mashed potatoes
Deviled eggs
Pineapple

And I meant to roast carrots, but it totally slipped my mind.

Thematically it was a mess. But it was good.
