Apparently 3D tvs were a thing but now they're not any more basically?

I recently watched green hornet and I'm currently watching Harold and Kumar Christmas. The 3d doesn't really do much for these movies but it still made me think about it. Like dang that's a lot of effort to do something people could only experience for a brief time in the early 2010s

sadly I'm still using my TV from 2012, 3D enabled and all. Avatar definitely wasn't as impressive as it was in the theater but it still was nice. I remember one of the call of duty Black ops games and Wipeout 3D being about the only times ever actually got to use it playing a video game.
