i have the adapter for it. Do I just plug the guitar into the USB port and its ready?

So, I plugged it in and it said it was okay. Started up the game and got this -

While the game is not running, set your input device in windows to default and your output device to whatever you want to hears sounds from while playing the game. Make sure the volume on your guitar/bass is turned all the way up and make sure that you plug the cable into the USB port BEFORE you start the game. Plugging the guitar part of the cable in and out of the guitar while the game is running is fine.

I had to buy a USB hub for my computer and connect it through that because the system's built-in USB ports didn't support it by default (don't remember the details but it was a pretty common problem).

It's a fun game when you get it working.

I heard some guitar adapter cables easily break and third partiy cables may not work properly with the game.

I asked on Reddit and it seems like I need to set my PC to 48khz in the settings. I'll try that in a bit

You should, I only got to try it out when my coworker loaned me his guitar for a couple months and it was a pretty fun time. It's a little slower than Guitar Hero and Rock Band in the beginning especially if you're like me and only ever looked at a real guitar before but it feels good to actually learn how to play something.

Okay, new issue. I unplugged my headphones and just used my TV's audio and finally got sound! But then it told me to strum the guitar to calibrate it, and I did for about 2mins strait and it didn't do anything.

I feel like public schools are missing out by not having kids learn music in this way tbh such a great mix between media and art form - when I saw the ads for Rocksmith I was like oh shit
