His argument is that it's stupid to make the teams travel to a neutral site for a game if no one is even going to be in the stands, which I honestly do agree with.

Especially because of the 3 games, the Rose Bowl is going to be the only one with no fans allowed.

Pretty stupid of him to not allow his players the chance to play for the championship, even though this is an asterisk season.

Also is there any data at all showing football games have been a source for a large outbreak or a ton of cases being traced back to football games? If you can't show any science and data proving that, then at least let the families go to the game.

No, its stupid. Because they played this whole season knowing that this could happen. That we're in a once in a generation situation. Now he wants to invalidate the whole season because families cant be there? I get the sentiment but its wrong

If this was like the NBA where they had a handle on the virus and great testing procedures then fine. I'm with him. However, its been handled so poorly that they shouldnt even be having fans in the stands at all.

If things are so bad that California won't let less than 500 people sit in the open air in a stadium that holds over 90,000 people, then why on earth should two teams be forced to fly hundreds of people (athletes and team staff) across the entire country to play there?

Multiple teams only playing 3-4 games.
Didn't eliminate their divisions so the two best teams won't even play each other.
The "winner" of the North division can't even play in the championship game.
No team even has a shot at the playoffs.

notre dame is gonna get smashed by clemson this weekend anyway so it will be moot. they barely scraped by against clemson when the tigers didn't have the future #1 draft pick, with him they are an 11 point underdog and in trouble

I hope this plays out like last time where people were claiming ND was gonna get smashed even without Lawrence and as soon as the game was over the narrative changed to "okay but with Lawrence it would have been different" even though his replacement played an almost flawless game (400+ passing yards and no turnovers), and we ignore Ian Book fumbling the ball on the goal line.

The main thing working against ND this time isn't Trevor Lawrence, it's that same season rematches don't usually end up going well for the team that wins the first game. My favorite example of this was LSU winning @ Bama in 2011 and then getting destroyed a couple months later in Louisiana, same players.
