The walmart here is selling YuGiOh Max Gold boxes for $52 (cnd)

My first impression was "wow, what a deal!"... but when I hit checkout it came to like $250.

Why? Because they weren't selling the boxes for $52... they were selling the MINI boxes for $52. Each display box has 5 mini boxes in it.

That's INSANITY!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I thought, wait.... since I can get display boxes online for about $95; can't I just sell them outside the walmart for $40 per mini box and make bank?

Yes, that's a MINIBOX, containing 4 packs... they are normally $19.99 if you buy them direct

if it's overpriced, yes, that's something to be aware of on these kinds of sites (amazon, walmart and newegg are the three that I know of) where there are third-party sellers that often list things at stupid prices hoping someone will buy it anyway (similar to WoW auction house or something).

what about the product listing is misleading besides the price being high?

did you just assume that the product was something other than what it said, just because the price was high?

(maybe there is little visual distinction between the two kinds of box? but you still shouldn't be surprised to add 5 x $52 to get $250. I don't see why there's any confusion except for the high price.)

Because I thought it was mislabelled since a full box at $52 would be half off, a great deal - but a mini-box at $52 is more than twice the cost.

Back to what I meant by reverse-scalping - I mean if I sold the same boxes outside the walmart (or wherever) for $40, I'd make a profit, and the customer would be saving money.

It was just an example in general though 'cuz it'd be silly to stand outside a walmart selling YuGiOh cards
