To be honest I have no idea what you're supposed to do against him other than cheese him.

To the point that he is the only boss (that I remember) that has a developer sanctioned cheese.

I haven't played the first Dark Souls in a long time, but I usually just went: 20 vit, 20 end, 40 dex, and pretty much stopped levelling from there.

but if I used the one black knight sword, I'd level enough to use it.

oh yea, and enough intelligence for different fire spells, since all you need to do is level up your fire glove thing because it doesn't scale with anything, so it's a good complement to any build.

Did a little cleanup; I went through Darkroot Basin, the Valley of Drakes (and the connecting part to Blighttown), and killed the Black Knight near the entrance to Darkroot Basin. 2-handing my Halberd unless I run into a bulky enemy.

How are you finding the lack of a teleport option? I know a lot of people get annoyed at the amount of travelling and backtracking one needs to do when they try Dark Souls for the first time. I love how it fources you to experience the world, though.

I would be much happier with one. I've proven I can travel between bonfires, it's just busywork.

So much better without warping. Sad that they haven't had the balls to have another game start without warping again. Or designed a world where it would be possible.

If the game is going to have warping from the get go may as well make it a cheesy level select like Nioh rather than an intricately designed world with shortcuts. Having to backtrack to areas to so things like upgrade makes you have to make tough decisions. It's more in line with the oppressive nature of the game.

since it basically led to the foundation of the rest of the franchise, you'll see a lot of similarities, if you do, but it's not an open-world.

in some ways, it's easier, but I preferred its bosses (with the exception of maybe two).

After (and if) I finish Dark Souls 1-3. I'm iffy on whether I'll continue after DS1, though; game is a huge time sink.

And 2 is at least really easy (aside from the dlc). I would recommend playing the Scholar version though. I heard they trimmed some of the bull shit and it's the version I played.

I have 3 on PC, so yes. I made a bit of progress (beat the Dancer of the Boreal Valley), but that was a couple years ago.

yea, I felt that part was really unfair to new players.

I found that if you walk up the thing rather than run, you should be okay... until you have to fight them at least.

it's not easy for old players either. sometimes i clear out anor londo just for reasons and i throw on a sacrifice ring when i'm taking care of those two.

Just get up into the face of the one on the right so that he takes out his sword then parry/reposte him and he should fly off. Parrying is easy as shit in DS1

I don't see how you "take care" of them. Go after either one and you get an arrow in the back and, most likely, knocked off the ledge.

If you run to the one on the right quickly enough, you should be able to bait that one into pulling its sword out and parry it without the one on the left causing too much grief behind you. Its definitely tricky and one of the worst wtf moments.

When youre up close with the one on the right, the one on the left cant shoot you. I usually pull up my shield and allow the dude to swipe at me until he manages to get himself to fall off.
