Longing for days that happened about 30 years ago.

I remember in the 90s wondering why people where so obsessed with the 70s. Now in 2020, people are obsessed with the 90s.

Also, playing old 90s hits today is like playing those 70s drug trip songs from the 70s and such.

Seems like the nostalgia trend is starting to focus on the 00s now. Usually it's a 20 year thing. There was a bunch of 70s nostalgia in the 90s, 80s nostalgia ruled the internet in the 00s, 90s took over in the 10s, and soon people will pine for the 00s and 10s.

If you did that with your pokemon and mtg cards you would have made a huge mistake.
Same with many ps1 titles.

The diffeence is we are 30 somethings longing for the saftey and security of being a child. Where as the hippies are 70 somethings longing for the horneyness and drugs (weakass drugs) of their 30s/40s. One of these actually says something about the current state of socitiy the other is just biological aging.

Well it makes sense, every generation has to grow up to be in their 20s/30s eventually and will be susceptible to nostalgia.
