What are your thoughts on Tenten?

she's basically a "who" character considering how much she's been side-lined throughout the series.

the Ninja War arc gives her a little time to shine, iirc, but she's basically forgotten afterwards.

edit: I never had much of an opinion about her character since she was so underutilized.

Yeah, I know that. I guess what I mean is, how do you feel about that? how do you feel that she was used so few times? Her and Shino got done dirty, imo

Shino gets done dirty, Tenten never has enough presence to even be dirtily done. Dittily doo. Dirty Dan.

I edited my post, but I guess if I had to choose something, I'd go with disappointed.

like, a ninja who prioritizes using weapons/tools is pretty interesting in relation to the rest of the series, but then it mostly wanted to focus on bloodlines, special bodies, eye techniques, etc.

Pretty much every young ninja from Naruto got shafted in Shippuden. Except for Sasuke of course.

Shikamaru got a whole arc for himself, and I guess Ino had a clutch moment against the Ten-Tails.

Yeah, I remember the War Arc when she got two legendary weapons. Then, never seen again.

She was always pretty inconsequential. It's hard to be relevant when your whole gimmick is projectile spam.

I think it is largely a known entity that Kishimoto did not treat his female characters very well. Beyond our 5th Hokage and the Mizukage, most of the kuonichi are really underrepresented.

I mean, Sakura is a member of Team 7 and was largely relegated to healer. Hinata is part of a prestigious family line and has abilities quite similar to Neji, but is used as a romantic interest.

Most of the female characters are best known for their relationship to male characters

Tenten only shined in filler.

But she easily has the coolest fighting style being a weapons expert. Her sensai being Guy should have meant she was proficient in melee weapons, not just throwing things from scrolls.

But like every character not Naruto, Sasuke, or Shikamaru. Nothing was done. Just eyeball and Rasengan spam.
