Doesn't it have to be kept at like -90 degrees?

Isn't that too cold to inject into someone?

tell me how are you going to get underwaged techs and lower rung health care workers to handle and prepare this shit with no training in <1 week and follow all the handling procedures with dry ice, not injure themselves and waste product, etc.

ok, so just a reminder, the vaccine base is a saline solution. so obviously, when its injected into you its going to have to be above freezing...

the -90F temps you see thrown around is for longer term storage and shipping. its stored at that temp to prevent the mRNA molecules from breaking down. they bring it up to between 35 and 70F before injecting you with it, it can maintain that temp without degrading too much for hours. so essentially, the training for administration is little different from flu vaccine training.

Isn't it being done on health care workers first. If anything goes wrong its them that are fucked since they the first adopters.

Yes Moderna is easier to mass produce but Pfizer isn't "shit" it's actually stronger and if you can get it then you should. There's no need to wait for the Moderna one.

You misread what I was calling shit about it, though granted I was not very clear in that post. I wasnt arguing an efficacy standpoint, though all data points to them essentially being the same. I meant from a storage, stability, and transportation standpoint. One that can be easily be stored in a regular freezer is always going to beat out one that has to have special equipment for long term storage, micromanaged inventory beyond any other product if you dont have that storage, and high transportation costs for a mass rollout.
