C'mon guys. This is the exact same shit other publishers like Ubisoft and EA pull. They set the expectations. They did the review shenanigans. They showed off pre-release content and said stuff in interviews that wasn't accurate to the final product. They set up their development conditions. Everything is on them. There is no guarantee they will fix all of it.

Does this mean the game is bad? No. A lot of it is great. A lot of it is not. It clearly had development issues that might not ever get solved. There really isn't an excuse for the game being this buggy or lacking traffic AI. They decided to make the game into an open world sandbox and there are standards in the genre that they haven't universally met.

Its not an open world sandbox game though. Youre not supposed to fight the cops, just like youre not supposed to fight the guards in Witcher 3.

The game is excellent, on current gen and high end PC. They absolutely should not have released the game on last gen and they should absolutely be called out for not being upfront with how it doesnt work on old consoles.

Not gonna lie what they did was shady, and my game crashes about once a session (couple hours). Thankfully its quick to reload where I was with quick saves and how fast the Ps5 is. But this game is my kinda jam and Im really enjoying it so far >_>...

This is the beginning. We will quickly come to realize they only made the load times so much better so that they wouldn't have to try to fix crashes this generation.

I'm glad Amazon fucked up my preorder. It moved me to buy Cyberpunk on PC.

Most of the complaints are very valid but the "it was developed for base PS4" complaints I think are not. It definitely wasn't developed for PS4 or Xbox One. I don't even think we saw gameplay on those consoles until a few months ago. And I'm pretty sure the console versions weren't announced until a few years after the initial announcement.

I think those versions should have been delayed and PC should have released first. Would have caused a shit storm sure, but would have been a better decision in the long run.

What do you mean? I have a high end PC and have only experienced a few superficial bugs that happen in most open world games. The game isnt perfect by any means, like the Police AI and spawning thing is genuinely bad and should have been done differently, but its really good overall.

Examples of people defending them? It is their mistake to release on consoles too early on without enough testing. Still isn't going to prevent me from enjoying the game on PC though.

The fact that it is being sold in boxes that say PS4 and Xbox one prove that this is incorrect.

it being old hardware is not an excuse for the game they are selling for $60 for these platforms to not work

I'm enjoying it. It's not a 10/10 since I took one point off for bugs (mine wern't that bad), 1 point off for cut content, 1 point off for the problems I have with the game itself (combat, size, no choices, ect..) and misc... 7/10 isn't bad.

This is where I'm at.I am really enjoying it though. I look forward to the DLCs also.That said if they ever want to charge for extra content,those of us that bought it this year should get a free lifetime pass.

They need to fix some of that AI, but this isn't really a GTA style open world game. The set dressing should work, but it's still just set dressing. Cyberpunk is kinda like Deus Ex or Mafia. The Witcher is even a limited open world. That feels more like a conscious decision than a technical flaw.

See, this has never bothered me because every game cuts content, its a natural part of development... but then maybe its because I dont read every article ever written on a game in the run up to release. I read at the fact that at one point there was wall running and Im like ok...?

Maybe the problem is CDPR are too ambitious (which obviously they are as they released this game on Xbone) and theyre too open with their ambition.

But they give you that option. They marketed the game as the most alive open world yet. They give you guns and cars to commit crimes with. You play as a hired gun just like in GTA. If it's not supposed to be played like that the option shouldn't be there.

They most certainly never said in the pre-release material that the open world gameplay was not a focus.

Not to mention there are games like Mafia that don't encourage open world shenanigans that still have better open world AI than Cyberpunk.

They announced the game in 2012 for 'next gen consoles' so yeah it was. The days of a PC game being ported to consoles later for AAA games like Cyberpunk died years ago. This game was supposed to release long before next gen consoles were even out.

They're now trying to claim it was because they didn't pay enough attention to them which is bullshit. The game has development issues on all platforms. PS4 and Xbox One just can barely run because they clearly had spread themselves too thin and wanted the game out for the holidays.

What are you talking about? That port was pulled from sale because it was so bad. You most certainly should be cautious about the Suicide Squad PC port.

Ironically CDPR also made one of the worst PC ports themselves so weird point to even bring up.

The enemy AI is fine, if a little on the basic side. The pedestrian, police and traffic AI is beyond basic though.

If you block traffic they just sit there and do nothing. The traffic in general does not respond to anything. This means police also cannot competently chase you and instead just spawn near you when you commit a crime.

There's nothing dynamic about the world at all. They all respond the same. If scared they'll waive their arms and start running. If you throw a flashbang at a group of cars they will all get out in a synchronized fashion and wave their arms around. If you attack people in wheelchairs they will also do the exact same thing and run away.

There is literally no AI in the game outside of combat outside of what I have listed. If you look behind you while racing you will see cars teleporting because the game does not have dynamic AI that can race cars and respond to obstacles.

you can't really pull a physical game from sale so refunds is the best they can do compared to AK which was by and large only digital on PC.

But yeah I agree

Pokemon Sword/Shield got the appropriate controversy on message boards. It's more the weird defensiveness that is a bit frustrating over CP2077. Especially when we've gone through an entire generation of gamers saying this sort of stuff is the worst thing ever.

But yeah if Nintendo blocked review footage, released a half-baked game and then apologized over it and promised they'll finish it later that would be awful.

If Nintendo released a game that flat out didn't work I imagine most people would be angered by it.

But if there's one thing Nintendo does good is releasing games that at a bare minimum work.

Look at this on Xbox One. He crashes into a vending machine and the game hangs and stutters for a solid minute before it goes back to playable. It's not frozen the game literally has to take all of that time to recover from the car crash. I cannot think of a game this entire generation from a major company that is worse than this. I'm even struggling to think of a game that does this last generation.
