Season 6 is iffy. It's between the trio, Dark Willow, and the burdens of adulthood--but the trio was never a real threat, and was more of a plot device IMO. I think I tend to rank the villains in Buffy based on the effect they have on the protags and how they advance the themes. I'd go with: Glory (total helplessness) > The First (desperation/fear) > Angelus (grief/betrayal) > The Master (mortality) > Mayor (authority corruption/corrupting influence) = Dark Willow (vengeance/justice) > Adam (I can't even remember what themes he embodied) --- The Original Eliza. yusiko 12/14/20 7:24:04 AM #12:	the master was a great starter villain. but overall kind of middle of the road angelus was great because he was such a personal villain for buffy. that connection he had with her was what made him such a great villain even if on paper he is a downgrade to the season 1 villain. but he just works so much better the mayor was amazing and one of the best villains the show ever had. no other villain topped angelus or the mayor but i give the edge to the mayor as the best buffy villain adam he was so fucking dull. this is also the reason i didnt care for riley in buffy either. season 4 had some really good stand along episodes but its main plot was a snoozefest overall glory i really liked glory in small doses. in large doses she was a rather annoying character and 80% of her dialogue is just repeating what we already know "i gotta get the key" and "have i mentioned i have the key" season 6 was awful aside from the musical and tara's screentime. i love tara but the trio were not great villains. and honestly neither was dark willow. i know by this point willow is supposed to be an unstoppable uber witch and one of the few characters its shown that buffy cannot beat in a fair fight. but alyson hannigan did not pull off threatening villain well. at least she was a step up from adam first evil - i liked the whole schitick of emotionally breaking people just by talking to them but overall the first is basically on the masters level for me. just kinda meh --- yusketeer <cite>yusiko posted [p:948313841] in Favorite B...
