You go into the brain clinic in central Florida. The assistant hands you a telescope and tells you to find a planet at 12pm. If you can find a planet with the telescope, she says the brain surgeon will give you $1,000,000. Before she leaves, you look at the clock and notice it says 11am. You ask her is this a trick, she says it must be a "real planet." She grabs her umbrella, giggles, and goes on her lunch break.

How can you win this bet?

That was my first guess too, but you aren't finding Earth with the telescope, you already found it with your naked eyes. You must "find a planet with the telescope" to win the bet

Is your being in central Florida (and therefore an understanding of the local geography) relevant?

I'm central Florida, you could theoretically spot the Kennedy Space Center and therefore the NASA logo (the shape of a globe) with a telescopes if you're in just the right spot.

Is the item you spot inside or outside the room? Is the clock relevant? Because if it is, you could spot a time on the clock which there's probably some random ass planet named after.

I will give you some hints here. The location IS relevant to the solution. Think about the small details here and look at the big picture with this knowledge.

Remember, the assistant told you what you need to do.

Depends on the time of year, but right now both Venus and Mercury are within visual distance. Just can't see them during the day. Aim the telescope at their easily Googleable co-ordinates, and say "Boom, bitch! One million please."

Has to be. If it's raining you can't see it and if it's not you can't see anything either on account of the sun being right above you.

Says nothing about you leaving the clinic, so either the nurse is so fat she has her own gravitational pull or this is some trick before/during surgery. Notice she never actually confirms this is not a trick either, and real planet is in quotes.

Might have something to do with brain surgery, but I'm not a doctor so have no clue.

How can you win this bet?

She has an umbrella meaning it must be raining. So that for the most part eliminates the outside, since with rain comes clouds, and with clouds you can't really look into the sky. I have a feeling it has to do with looking into the telescope and the clock, but I have no idea how.

Central Florida, which of its two time zones is that?
