The billionaire entrepreneur declared that California had "too much influence in the world" but that its power is waning. Tesla, valued at $500bn (372bn), has its headquarters in California, but will build a new factory in Austin. This is what he said in May: "Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately. In fact without California, all the other states wouldn't have about 80% of the "tech" things people use these days. Let's stop acting like red states contribute anywhere near what California contributes to this country and the world. This is all about the rich wanting to pay less taxes and having less regulations again.
