Styx is just great. I picked it up randomly one day and loved it. The stealth, humor, setting, and brutality are all wonderfully done. The challenge is also nice in how variable it is. Not only did they offer different difficulty settings but also optional challenges and collectables. So it's up to you if you want to be an unseen ghost or a rat skulking around always running from chase to chase. And yes, if you get seen then you need to run! Assassin's Creed 1 had amazing strategy in figuring out how to approach a target so that you could use the hidden blade without being detected. 2 had a similar deal but there were still many forced alerts. I think AC is one of those franchises that has too broad of an appeal to make stuff like stealth important. Which a lot of AAA games have to struggle with. Stealth can never be a necessity anymore. Only an option. But with it being an option means they can't really design a focused stealth game. So it tends to be half baked and basic.
