Cause if you're carrying something from that long ago that kids said, you probably picked up a whole lot of other stuff in-between that and the present that you won't let go either. I'm more concerned about the behavior than the actual event. I dunno, my dad picked on us enough that it made that type of stuff roll off by the time we got to school. Which I'm thankful for. Then again, I think my attitude would of detoured it as well. You have to actually care for kids to see it as fun.
