I used to work with a guy (super hardcore survivalist type dude) that would hunt super old school. He would go camp, make a spear, and hide up in a tree or hide in brush (disguising his scent in some way). He would then jump down/out and kill the deer with the spear, usually wounding it and then having to track it down as it bled out. He was an interesting dude.

No. Anyone who poses with the kill like they just wrestled a Goliath and want us to be proud of them is trash. You shot a deer from a distance. Good job! Even fishing takes more effort. At least a big fish takes strength and work to pull up. Size of the deer doesnt matter with a gun. Hell, the bigger the easier it is to hit.

You do know that just hitting a deer or any animal just anywhere isnt going to get you an instant and clean kill. Especially at a distance, you need to be well practiced with your firearm to land a good hit. Even in the best cases, you can still need to track them down.

Then comes the matter of loading them up, and prepping them and processing them (or taking them down to the local hunt shop).

Its not a quick and easy process that takes no skill. Youre a fool if you think it is.

Oh please lol. My family grew up on farms. I know all about how to put down, clean up, cut up and prepare an animal, big and small. I know what goes into it. Ted Cruz isn't a marine and there are no laws saying he can't hunt and post pictures of him hunting a deer. In todays day and age when there are other ways to get food that are just as uncivilized to each their own. The issue is it's people like Ted Cruz who are at the root of all of it.
