The firestorm controversy after 38 y/o Clare Crawley QUIT the Bachelorette mid-show when it shut down due to COVID-19 and already picked her winner when the show came back to production as she's asking people not to pass judgement on her after rapidly falling in love with 32 y/o Dale Moss, the first BLACK GUY to ever be picked as a winner for any bachelor or bachelorette's 40 seasons on the air

She is now engaged to Dale as she was laser focused on him on the show before the shutdown and ignored practically every other man.

She's had anxieties and breakdowns from the mean comments but it's not letting it get to her after falling in love with the NFL football player after 4 episodes..

They plan to split their time between California and New York as they are hope to have a family in the future

I've been half watching it (I view it like sports, not very deep and repetitive but something to talk about and there's like bingo/drinking games/tournaments around it)

Haven't caught up but Clare was cut short because sHe kNEw and ended the season early.

I mean this show's track record is shit even when drawn out but yeah that's why it was more this year.

Then I saw she's 38 and he's a 32 year old NFL player? Why was he the one competing for her and not the reverse, exactly? Does she have like... a giant inheritance or something? Aren't the dudes on the Bachelor like chief executives and such? Been a long time since I paid attention to either show.

And yeah, how the fuck is that show at 40 seasons?

He's an instagram "model", former NFL player. Doesn't mean much. She's not much either, but I think they're probably level. They seem happy together, whatever.

Other dudes on this season were way more attractive imo in terms of prospects (lots of engineers, a finance guy).

generally no there's a lot of young dudes and "entrepreneurs" but this season actually did have a lot of engineers and a professor and a finance guy. But also like, a spin class instructor lol.

at least from the handful of seasons I've seen (I am not that up to date either, watched some with my mom in high school then the past few seasons)

imo the dudes in this season were a pretty great selection, lots of good careers and seemed nice/not douchey and good looking. Didn't like Clare and Dale wasn't at all my favorite, but they re-used the guys and got a new bachelorette since she cut things short (haven't caught up there yet so idk how that's going)

Whenever I see the commercials, the guys for these shows look like male models and the women look pretty average, like the kind of chick who you might just see at a Whole Foods. It kinda plays into the target demo -- clearly it's a show aimed at women who would otherwise be intimidated by overly attractive women and fantasize about getting guys way out of their league.

And the "show" is at 40 seasons because they combine the Bachelor's and Bachelorette's seasons, I think. I think they run one season of each per year, but I'm not sure when they started running the Bachelorette because I've never bothered with that nonsense and I was pissed when they rigged that season of Dancing with the Stars to promote a chick who was going to be on one of those shows.

I think it has a lot because the show is also short, isn't it. Like they seem to last like 5 or 6 weeks or whatever. So, they could shoot multiple seasons a year...
