Current Events > I got on a saints row kick a couple months back, never got to 2

I bought 3 on switch on sale, loved it, so I bought 1 and 2. Blasted through 1 but I never started 2. By the end of the first one, I had really tired of the mission structure (specifically having to unlock story line missions with side missions) so I was kinda burnt out.

Should I start 2? I'm about to take many, many days off work.

I recently played 3 and 4 back to back and enjoyed them. 4 seems to be love it or hate it, personally it was fine for me, aside from the crashing.

2 follows that same formula. All the games do tbbqh. Just how it it is.

I think 2 is the best one but you still have to do side activities for the story missions. There are enough activities that are pretty fun and you can do them very quickly so I never felt like I had to grind them. Demo derby, fight club, insurance fraud, and hitman are the ones I usually do. The cop reality show one is pretty good too.

Its the best in the series by a mile imo. But I could be biased, the thing I like most about it is personal nostalgia, ya know? Just good times around that time

The cop reality show one is pretty good too.

God I love this. Sucks that they scrapped it from the sequels. None of the other activities were nearly as creative.

Yeah I feel you. I mean I never played em but it brought me back to playing GTA san andreas lol.

I mean I did like 1 more than 3 but I just think I got frustrated a bit with it by the end. I bet if 2 had even minor gameplay improvements it would really help

4 is the best one in the series. 1&2 are GTA clones,3 kinda still was but started to move away from being a GTA clone. 4 was entirely different and is the best one.

Wat it can't be worse than 1 on any of those measures right? I didn't mind any of that in the first one. The controls were clunky af compared to 3 but the big one was having to restart missions without check points. The two things combined created a bit of frustration for me (I am bad at games)

saints row 2 shatters, absolutely obliterates every other saints row and most other open world games. best customization ever. I made JD from scrubs. you could even wear scrubs

Saints Row 2 is, IMO, the best in the series by a long shot. I've done playthroughs where the main character looked like the AVGN, Pee-Wee Herman, Beavis, Butt-head, Mr. Rogers (just to name a few) and had a blast every time.

Specific to each SR game, you play as:
-a gang member in Stilwater (SR1);
-a gang leader in Stilwater (SR2);
-a brand empire CEO in Steelport (SR3);
-an elected "superhero" president in Steelport (SR4); and,
-a homicidal "angel" in Hell (SR:GooH).

The best-worst thing in SR is the Septic Avenger side missions in SR2. "Good" times. lol

i loved 3 and 4. 4 felt more like infamous or prototype and i loved the prototype games. i beat those before i ever finished a gta game. even now gta 5 is the only one i've actually finished but i beat bully and a lot of similar style games.

i never played SR1 and only played a little bit of SR2 but i liked it from what i played. i wouldn't play it right away though. burnout will kill your fun quickly. i had that happen with AC. i got bored with 1. then beat the whole ezio trilogy and then took like a year off cause of burnout. then tried to play 3 and got like an hour in and got sick of them holding my hand for everything and just wasn't having fun and was still burnt out on the series and i haven't touched a game in the series since.

it's really involved so I'm not gonna say it's easy, but it's rewarding as fuck. if you don't wanna go nuts on physique and shit you at least still have the most (and best) clothing options. btw I recommend doing insurance fraud (i think) first, so you can get the immunity to fall damage perk

I just finished 4 on pc and found it lots of fun even if totally outlandish
