you could argue any sport holds its risks and challenges. Overcoming them is exactly what makes the sport appealing.

I feel like the philosophy of these stuntmen are:

"Why live if you won't accomplish anything?"

Might as well die trying than not try at all

Your point of view is valid and some people are going to give you shit for it. Some people might think what Thich Quang Duc did was admirable but even I have to say it's no better than what R Budd Dwyer did, just a public suicide. I dont think today's events are altered in any way by what they did other than some extra questions on trivial pursuit and some classic photos in the ether.

But at the same time it's their choices to make. At least doing these stunts are done for adrenaline rushes, and to these people it enhances their lives and is what they live for and not purposely suicidal even if there's a lot of risks to it. Some people are more daring and live on the edge than others. Some pay the price, some don't. This guy died but at least he died doing what he loved
