I've had a pork meat pie before but it was pretty basic: Pork, seasonings, mixed vegetables inside a crust. I'm not sure if/how the British variant differs but sure; I'd try it. Maybe I'd like it.

It really depends, if it's a typical shop version of a pork pie then no, the pastry tends to be a little soggy for my taste.
Morrisons do an 'okay' pork pie that has a decent texture to the pastry but you really cannot beat a proper butchers made pork pie. --- It's time gamers grew up instead of being pissy 5 year olds fighting over the most asinine things. ... Copied to Clipboard!

The butchers near me does a proper nice pork pie and gala pie, amazing tasting pork filling, a good amount of jelly and not too much pastry, a typical supermarket one is passable but doesnt compare to a proper pork pie.

I had a really bad one once. It was way too salty and the crust was quite hard. I'd probably like it though if I had a proper one.

Don't think I've had one, unless we count tourtiere as a variant (which I don't think we can). Steak pies are good, though.

Tesco actually do a "section" that include a selection of 2 pork pies, 2 pork and stuffing pork pies and 2 pork and cranberry pork pies. Those are good too. adjl posted...
