Now I wanna go to different ones to see how different the experiences are

Hilton is pretty chill. Corporate don't want their reps. to tarnish the brand.

Wyndham is more corporate and doesn't tolerate shenanigans to a degree.

Westgate? It's the wild west of timeshare resorts. They literally train you to be an ass and hostile to families to pressure them into buying. The managers are the same. Westgate is infamous for keeping you 5 hours on your
"two hour" presentation. Every resort company, when they have new hires whose only experience is working for Westgate, have to untrain all the bad habits they pick up at Westgate. Westgate resorts is the only non corporate major resort chain (it's privately owned by the Siegal family). Westgate also majorly fuck over their reps as well.

So do you really try to be a dick to get people to be abusive to you? Because I was def picking up on that vibe but I'm not great at social cues (which I guess makes me a bad mark lmao)

I don't personally do that. But sometimes families are just asses for no reason. And then they get verbally abusive we NQ them.

See the above post. When I worked at Westgate we're trained to do that.

Yeah I couldn't tell you for certain it wasn't westgate. I do know for sure it wasn't in a hotel or casino, it was off strip and more like apartments.

Please elaborate on "three meetings" Orange Lakes is Holiday Inn. I have plenty of coworkers from their chain of resorts. Do you mean 3 different people?
Orientarions? Sales pitches? It was, "This pitch is mandatory for a free stay, this pitch gets you free food, this pitch gets you free stuff (I think pool passes for the tubes and stuff like that)."

What?

Their presentations go like this:

1) 90 minutes with Sales Rep. Then manager comes as the closer. If you say no,
2) Up to 20 minutes with Introduction package rep. If you say no,
3) Exit program rep. If you say no,
4) Marketing person that takes 5 minutes and reinvites you to another presentation

Done.

Oh yeah, for mine, we went on a bus from the casino to the resort or whatever. Then someone gave us a tour, then got us signed in and waited for a sales rep to grab us. That person didn't pitch us. The sales rep took us to get breakfast and then we went into a side room with a group of people and watched a presentation that was part power point and part inspirational speech. Then our sales rep took us out of that side room on to a big floor where the official pitch happened. Then yeah afterwards we had to talk to someone to get our rewards or whatever they were called.

Not sure how much of that is typical

Besides the bus part (Maybe it's a Vegas thing?) that's normal.

The PowerPoint presentation/Speech part is what we call a podium speaker. They're usually very charismatic who go over the rent vs own (Did this person ask everyone how much they spent on average and then go over how inflation will will double/triple costs over 10 or 20 years). Usually they also pass out credit check paperwork to everyone in the room before your assigned rep returns to bring you out to the sales floor and begin pitching.

Afterwards they send you to gifting if you don't buy anything. But before that 3 to 4 people go to your table after your initial rep. before you're free.

Wanted to add - Hilton and Westgate do not do the podium part.

Yeah, pretty much exactly that. Maybe a slightly different time horizon.

Interesting, slightly different here for me. The assigned rep stayed with us (it was I think literally all couples, so it was like three to a table) and we did our paperwork while waiting for our sales rep to grab us.

For me it was just the first person and his manager I'm pretty sure. I guess now that I think about it a third person did come to 'guide' us to the gifting person and he did talk up the resort!! I guess it was a pitch though I didn't really see it that way at the time

On the third person, if it was Wyndham, would have been a Discovery program rep. He never gave your prices?
