First cousins*

Yeah 40's a lot.

I've got 7 1st cousins that I know of. My dad's got two siblings, both with 3 kids (well his sister has an adopted daughter, but she's not blood related obviously), and my mom has one half-sister that I've met with one kid, and some other half-siblings who she only found out about within the past few years (her biological dad left her mother at a young age). So there's probably some more cousins from them, but I doubt its anywhere close to 40.

I've got 17, and hung out with some of my second cousins growing up too. It's definitely weird when you hang out with friends who have no cousins at all or cousins they're not close to and you realize that they legit can't truly relate to what's been a huge part of your life.

That describes me. I only saw my cousins around holidays or on vacations as my family's scattered around the country. I kept in regular contact with one of my cousins online in the days of AIM, but we fell out of touch and I haven't talked to him in years.
