44 y/o Actress, Alicia Silverstone is speaking out about her SON'S decision to cut his long hair after people speculated that BULLIES were the reason for it and caving to the pressure!!

She said her son, 9 y/o Bear who she shares with ex, Christopher Jarecki said cutting his long hair short was his decision despite Alicia writing a story of how kids at her son's school were making fun of her son for having long hair and looking like a girl

But she cleared it up and wrote "Hi, i saw this story and feel compelled to say this is not what happened. Bear chose to cut his hair at this time for himself because he wanted a change not because he felt pressure from anyone else or was being teasted. I did share a story a few months ago about an isolated event that took place more than 2 years ago where he was being called a girl and i shared it because i was so proud that it didn't make him want to change how he looked because of how anyone else felt about it. I sincerely wish for all of us to not need to seek approval from others"

She was overcome with emotion watching him cut off his waist length hair as she said her son wanted to "try something new" and was supportive of his decision and then shared his new look writing she misses his long hair but welcomes the new look

She has a feeling he'll grow it out again in the future as she said no matter what she will support her son for whatever he chooses in life.

I grew out my hair for like 11 months this year then I got it cut the other day because I got tired of it being in my face all the time

I think its more his features look more feminine... The hair just helps with that. Either way, long hair can work with guys. He could style it differently. Like deoxxys said, it might have more to do with the way he styles it...

No and I also don't have any issue with girls with short hair. Hell I had long hair myself at one point. You'll always get comments such as "hurr durr you look like a girl!" or whatever. Ignorant people are nothing new and kids will be kids.

jfc, the kid did look a lot like a girl. Surprised that just a hair cut fixed that.

And Alicia looks pretty good for 44. But wtf was up with naming their kid Bear? I imagine that also led to confusion.

Some boys can make it work, others can't. It's not like with girls where they can easily make it work either way, though.

Kid looks like a girl even with short hair but nothing wrong with that.

I think initially he was styling it that way on purpose, and perhaps now he is trying to do the opposite, but his features are still fairly feminine.

Also Alicia is still hot as fuck.

I had long hair throughout most of my highschool days.
And I have long hair now too. I have to wear it in a ponytail when I go to work to keep it out of my face and out of the way of food.

I have always had longer hair. When you are a kid you definitely can be mistaken for a girl, (even now sometimes from behind) especially because of the voice not changing. I never cut it despite being teased, even to this day, but usually now its just fun jokes. He definitely dresses more feminine, and I don't mean the style of his hair. But either way, whatever makes you happy as long as its not hurting anyone. More power to him, maybe he will grow it back...my mom forced me to shave mine when I was about 8-9 and I raised holy hell about it. Blatantly refused to ever do that again.

I've been growing out my hair for 3 years.
