The two I've done are romantic. I'm pretty sure the S supports are the same for male and female Byleth. Like, I heard Alois for instance is platonic (which is fine cause I don't wanna be a homewrecker) so it is so for both male and female Byleth.

I'm glad they started bringing back platonic endings again. One of the downsides of the increased focus on romance that started with Awakening is that the cast became a lot less diverse. Everyone had to be young and hot, because any could be your waifu. Compare the casts variety from Awakening to the pre-Awakening games. Gone are the already married, the parents with children, the grizzled veterans, the gold experienced makes, etc because they weren't S-able. For the most part 3H is still young and hot, but it is clawing back some other character types.

I do hate how Awakening turned supports from battlefield camaraderie into a dating sim. Three Houses does it a looooooot better, but it still has that taint, unfortunately.

Not really. Any romance isn't a thing at all until the end of the game. And even then it's literally only with Byleth.

Almost done with Blue Lions I think. The interactions between the Kingdom and the Alliance makes so much more sense in this than it did in Golden Deer path. That annoyed me in GD tbh. But I guess in GD, Byleth wasnt with Dimitri to help him get back on track.

Honestly I love the fact that you don't ever get the full story. Makes the war all the more tragic since all four sides have a key piece of info the other sides could've used to resolve the issues.

The GD and BL interaction makes no sense in either of the routes. Its just that knowing about Dimitri's situation, which you don't get in GD, makes it a slight bit less stupid. But contrarily once you do know, its a further bit less stupid in the GD route, where Dimitri is the aggressive force, due to that situation. in BL, the GD house being aggressive is just stupid.

The game's pathetic excuse of "oh it's foggy" is nonsense that they didn't even try to represent on the map.

Well, just finished Blue Lions. Wtf at Edelgard in the last mission, that was kinda out of nowhere. I ended up marrying Dedue, I liked him best out of the options for female Byleth. He has such a pleasant voice.

I'm glad I played Golden Deer first, I feel like Blue Lion kinda glossed over some plot points that I'd feel unsatisfied about, like what happened to Rhea and the shadow organization. It will probably be some time before I play Black Eagles, since I already did the first two basically back to back.

Also I really like the battle music in this game.

I'm on the final chapter finally. I have so many regrets about this path. Hell, the game practically tells you it's the wrong path when Edelgard says she believed that this wasn't the path I was destined to take. I can't wait until this is over and I can start over and do it right.

Clearly LMAO. Maybe outside of Claude who seems to be the most stable person by far in this story. Kinda crazy that the other characters kinda shit on him all the time for his personality when, in reality, he is the most normal and fit person to rule the land out of all of them. Based on what I know anyway.

I still wish we could have had at least 1 "good ending"

Here's how it would work in my head.

• Claude meets with Edelgard regarding doubts of the church.
• Claude + Lysithea win over Edelgard's trust and she divulges everything she knows about the slitherers.
• Byleth reaches out to Dmitri to help stage the battle at Garreg Mach in a way to lure out the slitherers.
• It "fails" and the timeskip happens.
• Byleth goes on a solo diplomatic mission to all three kingdoms to reunite the leaders and get a ceasefire.
• They gather their forces together and destroy the slitherers.
• With the slitherers dead, Rhea is ousted and goes into hibernation.
• Byleth assumes command of the church
• Edelgard is married to Dmitri politically to unify the empire and the kingdom.
• Claude leaves the alliance.

I started Black Eagles. So far I like how Hubert is trying to do his best impression of April from Parks & Rec. And also Bernadetta always thinking everyone is trying to kill her, but waiting to see what kind of fucked up backstory got her to that point.

Ferdinand seems boring, thought he was gonna be more similar to Sylvain. Caspar is the Ashe/Ignatz i.e. character I don't care about of this house. Dorothea is literally just mini Manuela so far. Linhardt and Petra seem like they'll be cool.

Ferdinand is the second best character in the game, IMO. Like Sylvain you have to truly dig into his character for him to have a turnabout from the complete asshole he starts out as. I remember Ignatz getting slightly better by the end of GD. His personality also wasnt so annoying, not as much as Im feeling like Caspars is gonna be.

Ignatz has value in Maddening for his accuracy and Rallies. Caspar's bases are so awful that you have to feed him kills just get him going, which he just isn't worth.

Ignatz' innate is so good it automatically makes him better, and he's a rather decent rallybot if you don't have Annette.

Easily. Comes late. No supports. Offers nothing that characters you have had longer can't do better.

I'm honestly not sure how I feel about Anna becoming a regular playable character in Fire Emblem. Because it is starting to feel like they are adding her just to add her rather than putting thought into it.

So Catherine and Cyril cant be recruited in Black Eagles? I always get them at the same time as Shamir who I do have now, but the Recruit option isnt there for them. I suppose it makes sense character wise though. I recruited Mercedes because of her connection to a certain character, and also plan to grab Lysithea later because I read shes the one person who can be recruited in part 2.

Catherine, Cyril, Flayn, and Seteth will never join you in White Clouds while you're in Black Eagles and they can't be recruited at all in Crimson Flower.

Interesting, thanks for clarifying. I am aware Black Eagle has 2 different Part 2s but didnt know she would bail in one. I was planning on using her more this run too so Ill have to carefully think over which Part 2 I want to take.

My younger brother did the same thing. With her high charm and kinda superfluous nature she makes such a natural dancer candidate. Especially pre-DLC. Post DLC, Flayn is meant for the skies.

I finally decided to beat this game as I slaughtered almost all of my students. The map was meh. Kinda annoying honestly. The final boss was a major letdown. A complete pushover. I sweated a little because I decided to throw caution to the wind after a few engagements on her but that could have easily been negated if I really tried. Her damage output was nothing special. Neither was her speed. Cathrine was a much bigger threat if you were within her range.

Now, in terms of the story. That was very anticlimactic as well. There was so much left on the table that happened off screen. Those who slither in the dark? Yea, we dealt with that off screen. Apparently there was some type of seal on my heart that sealed the goddesses power within me? No explanation for that one on this path. I still dont understand why Rhea torched the town and killed all those people. I mean, for what? To make the map annoying like it was going to give her an insignificant advantage? That was stupid.

Also, Cyril. WTF was up with him? He never moved even while his lovely god he was willing to die for was getting slaughtered. Maybe it was because of what Reha did to those people? Im not sure. I didnt attack him to figure it out.

As for the story as a whole. Part 1 was really good. Part 2 was a complete and utter shit show. I still have no idea how Rheas mother was sealed inside of me. Sothis completely disappeared for the rest of the game which was stupid. How can someone so important just disappear and never come back? No explanation? Nothing really explaining how she was a part of me or how she lost her memory. No more context? Maybe something would have happened if I decided to marry Sothis. Why would have have to do that just to get more important story context if that is true? God what a shitshow.

If this was the only story line for this game, I would give it an F even with the strong start. It was so bad. I did care about the characters so thats a plus. The overall story is so dumb. I will never EVER play this route again. There is no way this wasnt the worst route. It is practically impossible any of the other routes are worse.
