Yeah I know how that feels. I remember fighting regi the Game and Watch player from Mexico and getting destroyed on stream. And as ant said it might have been Mabel who has done very well in online tourneys.

ant is the best player I've ever faced. felt like I was playing a tas, couldn't move or anything (that is a compliment)

faced a cloud player in a tournament that kicked my ass, don't remember his name. like ant, he felt like a tas because his movement was so precise

lute the stream sniper is also very good, usually they 2 or 3 stock me every game

The only guy I've played who might be better than ant is this guy Jumble on rideshort's discord. But idk, they both destroy me so it's hard to tell. Jumble does it with random characters though

There is just this... noticeable half second input delay. Against both of you. Its so bad. I cant do platform drops and other shit. Its reading tilts as smashes and stuff. I just want to play some games on the internet with my friends. :(

i only fought jumble once but because of a tournament the match was cut short, but it was really close. good player

Like it's weird because even against amazing people at locals who grind tourneys I could usually take some games. I think I've beat you maybe once

anyone else never compete offline before? I didn't start playing until covid started. seems like it would be really fun, but I would hate not being able to say "fuck" at the TV screen when I lose haha

If you could I would recommend it. It's more fun in person plus you get to meet cool people. It's how I met araknos who a few people here know.

Also it helps grinding offline more than online imo.

I would compete but I did some research and it doesn't seem like Rochester has a smash scene. well there is at RIT, but I'm not a student there. I believe there is a decent smash scene in Buffalo though

This delay is so annoying. Its just good enough to play in but it eats inputs and it feels like Im mashing the hell out of everything. Im amazed I won games.

Thats normal. Makes sense, and I agree with it. I actually like tourneys but I now hate going to them. There are a few reasons and a long story about 64, but one of the reasons is that I have a family that kind of unintentionally screws it up for me. Its not easy for me to focus on the games when my daughter and wife are lurking or calling me multiple times. Like, no disrespect and its not a big deal, but my wife goes to stuff with her friends while I babysit and then when I try to go to tourneys I get sabotaged because it becomes a family vacation and whatever else. The last tourney I entered I sandbagged with a low tier so I would be able to curb my competitiveness and accept defeats easily. Im also pretty introverted.

That sucks, my girlfriend of 3 years is actually pretty into the game and likes to participate in tourneys with me. She's good enough to beat some people, she even gives me trouble sometimes

I think Lucario is definitely significantly better now, he's just still very poorly designed

Oh yeah I do think his buffs helped the character imo. He feels a lot more solid than before that's why I've been playing the character a lot more lately. I'm by no means an expert but I don't think he's the worst 3rd character in the game behind Ganon and Little Mac like they voted over at reddit. I feel having good mobility, a decent projectile and even if aura probably hinders the character overall he still has a cheese factor. Also his nair is the safest aeriel in the game at high aura IIRC.

i'm still struggling with differentiating some of his moves, especially with the aura when it's around him

what do you guys think limits little mac more? his bad aerials or his bad recovery?

his recovery isn't even the worst in the game

ggs i need to grind that lucario matchup more

I'm trying to think if Mac's aerials even have any purpose. I would think you could combo some of them into something grounded but I never see it
