Well, here we are, folks. What a road it's been, through moderations and elections, slow days and arguments, bracket moves and scenes that refused to be found, controversies large and small. And now we're here.

In one corner... widely maligned as "Leia Poppins", this depiction of the other Skywalker twin visibly manifesting her force powers onscreen for the first time has been quoted in thousands of video essays as proof that Rian Johnson deserves to run a marathon through a messy lego afficionado's house. She has flown to the top of the rankings... General Leia's flight through space!

And in the other... seen as final, conclusive proof that the sequel trilogy had no cohesive plan from the start, that not only did JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson not coordinate on an overarching storyline but actively sought to backstab each other, a scene which, along with a single literal meme line from Palpatine, is meant to justify the sudden return of an old villain two movies in. Somehow, this scene has kept returning for round after round... Poe and random Resistance pilot talk about Palpatine's triumphant rebirth!

Somehow, I didn't watch any of these movies, and didn't complain about them either. But I thank them for the porn they spurred.

"Somehow, Palpatine returned" was the nadir of the entire trilogy. Space Leia was just extremely dumb.

Leia in space was near transcendent in its beauty, the whole film is amazing visually and this was one of the best moments.

Space Leia is dumb but I give it a pass because I could believe Leia had some force training in the 30+ years between RotJ and TFA. Also Carrie Fisher passed away so Im not going to begrudge letting her character have a nice moment, as silly and unnecessary as it was.

Funny, out of all the bad in the sequel trilogy, these are 2 things I think are only bad in execution not conception. Leia being blasted into space and force saving herself isn't bad. Floating in unmoving like they were using Carrie Fisher's fresh cadaver to film the scene made it look like a fan film's action figure.

Palpitine being the mastermind of everything honestly could have worked with better foreshadowing and the framing of "everything really was going as he foresaw, even what we thought were his failures so we're probably screwed by fate". We didn't get that in lieu of "he just showed up and is doing evil stuff".

Given the 2, it's dumb scene versus totally ruined narrative flow. Vote goes to Palpitine.

I'm convinced it's a power play on the part of Disney. They killed off survivors and brought back characters who died just to show they're in charge.
