I unsubscribed 6 months ago because of the lack of content, and a few days ago I looked just to see if anything changed. TC isn't wrong lol. Again, there's so obviously nothing wrong with it, and atonement is good. I don't think it's pandering because apparently their practices were really shitty and things should be different. But we all know it wasn't like... "natural." Whatever that means.

Photos came out back in like June of their senior editor wearing a pretty racist Halloween costume from like 15 years ago. Then some other stuff came out about treatment and pay of minority talent as opposed to the white talent, I don't really know all the details but long story short, yeah. They had a racial controversy

I mean you can just go pull up their YouTube channel and look at the thumbnails for the recent videos, it's a very obvious attempt at damage control.

And nothing against the people in the videos. I watched a couple of minutes from a few of them, they all seem like really nice people, and I hope it works out for them.

Okay yeah in that case it does seem like a blatant attempt at damage control then. I watched their videos and honestly most of them seem like nice people who do a good job at explaining the food they're making. I'll be honest but I didn't notice this until you mention it. I'm not calling you a racist or anything for notice this, but I mean as long as the people do a decent job at it, I honestly don't care about ethnicity tbh.

They got cancelled when one of the Chef host, who is a minority, exposed them for pay inequality to outright not paying her to appear in videos. Even though she is just as, if not more qualified, as the white celebrity chef hosts on the channel.

I haven't watched any of the new videos since they came back. Their "we're back and going to do better" video introducing the new cast was pretty terrible, and it looks like they delisted it.

Also, I watched some of Sohla's videos on Babish's channel, and they're pretty bad. Too long and meandering, and she has no chemistry with the faceless people behind the camera or even Babby himself. Though Andrew really doesn't have chemistry with anybody, actually.

There was this hilarious compilation video of every single white chef host who would ask that woman to clarify or confirm something about the meal they were cooking. It went on for fucking ever.

They haven't been "short" in the longest time. They went from 5 minute videos focused on the food, to 15 minute videos that were very "personality driven." Except most of those personalities aren't nearly interesting enough to watch for that length of time. Brad simultaneously created and destroyed that channel.
