I'm very close to that point, but it's not just COVID-19, but also that my department staff have been slashed and I no longer have the manpower to properly run it, which isn't to say that I ever did run it, but the guy who did was moved to a different department too. Very stressful and irritating, I'm very much ready to bail.

I'm close.

I've actually been on leave for a while, but I have to go back full time in a few weeks. I was in the office the other day to pick something up and there was zero social distancing, no one wearing masks, etc. If they don't let me continue to work from home, I'll probably walk.

No. I work from home so it's kind of ideal for the rona. It has gotten more stressful since though. Calls are certainly worse

I'm getting there. My overlords are not taking enough preventative measures or giving us hazard pay. I work in a damn research lab where we're assisting in two covid vaccines and we frequently have multiple people in one room for hours at a time and the leadership is like, "face masks are probably enough."

Not me. My job is the same except I'm working from home which I've always wanted to do. I'm very lucky in that way.

Nah. I don't like working with/close to other people, but this is the most I've ever been making per week since ever. 6k a month after taxes is hard to quit from. Granted, I've been putting in 55+ hr weeks, and the days have all started to blur together into a routine slog.

The thought has crossed my mind a couple times. If it were possible to do my job remotely from home, and reliably, I'd feel better about things.

If you have a job then that means you aren't financially set enough to quit. But to answer the question no however my job had 6 people test pos for corona and we are now furloughed until further notice.

I work at a grocery store so.. yes.

But then, Ive been wanting to quit for a few years now. Especially this past year.

But the Union is paying for my college. About four weeks left though. Cant wait to be done with that shit.

Unfortunately Im not brave and impulsive enough to just quit without having something lined up first though.

If I weren't living in San Francisco I might would have lol. Don't want to eat my savings on rent.

Meh, my company has actually been pretty good about pushing taking off for mental health days and I've taken quite a few. And I generally have it great with the wfh situation.

There's just been some especially stressful weeks. COVID stress, election stress, heavy workload, really bad family problems, lack of my usual healthy coping mechanisms (spin class, socializing, motivations). Been a crap year.

So ready for the vaccine.

You're in the city, Kriem? I (used to) visit my friend there once a month. She lives in a one bedroom apartment with two roommates and her rent is still ridiculous lol. But she has an in-unit washer/dryer at least.

That would just be stupid, especially considering how many peoples' jobs have been quitting them. The number of furloughs and layoffs has only been going up over time. Given that it's going to be hard as well for anybody trying to find a job once things return to normal, you should be clinging to your job like a life boat on a sinking ship.

Not to mention that the only reason anybody should be quitting a job is because they have a new one lined up.

yup in the city. Splitting rent with my bf. It's really not that bad percentage wise with it split and we have a 2/1 with a washer/dryer. Rent control place.

Wish we had a dishwasher though :(

Finding a rent control place in the Bay Area is a godsend. I've lived in multiple locations in San Jose, but the best was a rent controlled apartment that allowed me to properly save. It wasn't as a fun as living in the punk house in Oakland, but these days I'll take the stability over the excitement. Nice not dealing with waking up to some rando ODing on the kitchen table.

Just got a new job. Moving from a grocery store to customer service at a supply chain. I probably won't interact with as many people there. Though some of the workers weren't wearing masks so idk.

The area I'm in is also facing a lockdown now, albeit a limited one. As an "essential worker," I get to resume my hours and continue serving food to people coping with both holiday stress and Covid duress on top of their usual shenanigans ("Is this Express Chicken spicy?" regarding Empress Chicken, multiple times a day, often from the same customers).

Kinda? Not really?

I had an opportunity that sounded good, was a terrible fit that was made more challenging due to the pandemic sorta changing my role to basically "make your own projects about thing you know fuck all about" and I gave it 6 months then just bounced. I ran into my former boss a month or so ago and was told I beat their marketing/reach targets by like 4000% in some areas (not as amazing as it sounds when there was almost no online footprint before) but it was stressing me out like crazy and I didn't really need to work, so everyone was like "quit" except my boss who was pretty bummed.
