Sen. Graham pressured Ga. secretary of state to throw out legally cast ballots
https://www.wsav.com/news/your-local-election-hq/report-sen-graham-pressured-ga-secretary-of-state-to-throw-out-legally-cast-ballots/

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) Sen. Lindsey Graham pressured Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, a Republican, to throw out legally cast ballots, according to a report from the Washington Post.
The paper reports that Raffensperger talked to Graham Friday. Raffensperger said Graham asked him whether he had the power to toss out all mail-in ballots in counties that had higher rates of non-matching signatures.
Raggensperger told the Washington Post he was stunned by Grahams apparent suggestion to throw away ballots that were cast legally.
The Washington Post reached out to Grahams office and were referred to a letter from Georgia Republicans voicing concern with the vote audit process.
Graham also echoed President Donald Trumps unfounded claims about voting irregularities, according to the paper.
Raffensperger told the Washington Post he has come under increasing pressure from Republicans to question the validity of the results.
The secretary of state said every allegation of fraud will be investigated, but so far, no credible evidence exists that would change the elections outcome.

Sounds like Lady G was planning some election fraud.

"We have reason to believe that substantially less than 1% of ballots may have been compromised, so you should probably just throw all of them out."

At this point, I really don't know if these people genuinely believe this nonsense or if they're just plain evil and trust that their base will buy it if they say it with enough conviction.

I've been politically neutral (more like politically unaware) over the years, and even registered to vote as neutral, but all the shenanigans the Republican party and their supporters have pulled recently, especially from the impeachment hearings onward, have firmly convinced me: The Republican Party is America's cancer and needs to be opposed by every decent American from now to the point where they only appear in history books.

Their base doesn't need to "buy" anything. Their base doesn't care about the rules or constitution.

They kind of are. I'm not affiliated with either party (I'm more liberal than not) and try to judge both major parties on their merits and not on written ideology and it's just transparently obvious that the republicans have no qualms with cheating and lying and manipulating the system to win every time. Democrats make a lot of stupid mistakes and statements but at least they appear to want to follow the rules and act in good faith the majority of the time.

They need to buy into it enough to vote for them again.

Presumably searching for a Breitbart article that he can spin into some manner of "both sides" claim.

in any other term, this kind of thing would be career-ending, and would possibly call for a prison sentence. but this is trump's cabinet, and his army of sewer people will make sure nothing happens to graham. biden's reign is going to have probalems, but i'm seriously going to be happy to see the current office of cockroaches get flushed out, ok?

I think the goal with this isn't even to actually try and overturn the results in GA for the presidential election.

It's to sow enough doubt, distrust, and anxiety in the citizens of GA that they'll be hesitant to use mail in ballots for the crucial Jan. 5 Senate special elections.
Republicans didn't actually expect to lose GA this election, and it's too late now to suppress the vote or retroactively deny ballots that were already deemed acceptable.

But now they do know it's actually in play, and will be dead set on using every cheat and dirty trick in the book to win on Jan. 5th. Expect a much larger % of absentee ballots to be rejected for "mismatched signatures" or other BS. Graham's loud and obnoxious whoring out of himself and debasement of the electoral system is on purpose, to put fear into the voters that foul play will be at work...next time.

It's rather insidious, but that's the Republican party's forte.

And yes, what Graham's doing really should be a crime.

Some of his most ardent supporters do look like sewer people.
