what i mean is, interactions with people that set up silly boundaries or restrictions based on fear or blind obedience or simple lack of pragmatic inquisition.

today i was at a liquor store and bought 2 beers and 2 bags of candy, the cashier grabbed my sundries under a difficulty low plastic barrier. my total was 26 american dollars and 31 cents. i paid with 30 american dollars, and was bare handed my cash in fair exchange. the cashier asked me if id like a bag, i said yes please. i was handed a bag while my purchased items remained on the other side of this barrier. i said "would you mind bagging it for me?" and the man replied "im sorry but i cannot touch it". to which i replied "what happened? did you break your hands?" we exchanged a quick chuckle and i walked out after handing the bag back to the cashier, bare handed, which he put back into the stock of bags....

what you guys got?

I'm trying to figure out if this is a joke topic or not....

My last job that made me work at home for the final 5 months of the contract refused to allow me to enter the building during those 5 months to pick up my stuff and had me skype somebody who walked around the room with the webcam pointing it at different items that I had to say if they were mine or not.

i bag my own groceries all the time, exclusively actually.
it was really awkward reaching under that stupid barrier and i wasnt about to abide by this guys arbitrary protocol when there was a line forming behind me. i made him laugh and we parted ways. im a real brat, i know....

1) Highly doubt it was that guy's policy

Also, the drive thru tray thing is to prevent hand to hand contact when they hand you the bag. same with the money in the cup.

the lack of logic in this topic is astounding. TC raised a valid point and instead of yelling at the cashier, he simply jested.

I see idiotic covidisms every day. At work, employees and customers are required to wear a mask. But when you go to the break room, no one has to wear their mask. I go from working in a big, open, space with everyone wearing a mask to a small room with everyone sitting down and chatting without a mask. Does Covid suddenly not exist when you're on you're lunch? Does Covid say "Oh wait I'll let them off the hook because they're on lunch"? It's absolutely stupid.

I was harassed four separate times at one grocery store by various employees about not having a mask one time. Keep in mind, the latter was in late March when masks were not mandated.

back in early march i was told to wear a mask a couple times to which i responded by covering my mouth and nose with my hand for 30 or so seconds then removing it to continue shopping and pay, bare faced with no further complaints....

Why should he? Did he not already say he has a pre-existing medical condition? Do you know specifically how the mask affects him? Maybe you should get off your high horse and learn some empathy. Not everyone should wear a mask. Dr. Fauci said it, the CDC said it, so you have no authority here.

No it's more important that you people in the break room keep your masks on because you are in closer contact. Just because your company doesn't make it mandatory doesn't mean it isn't the proper thing to do, and if people are just sitting there without their masks in the break room they are a part of why the US is so fucked with covid.

And that medical condition doesnt give you freedom to go into any store you want if their policy says you have to wear a mask.

Also what condition if you dont mind me asking? People always say a medical condition but never what that condition is.

edit: cloth masks. plastic face shields shouldn't cause any problems whatsoever.

Thats another thing I dont get. If your condition prevents you from wearing a mask, i assume it has to do with breathing...wouldnt you want to take precaution against Covid, a respitory disease that can make your breathing condition worse?

My Ex-MIL would (and apparently still does) turn full-karen on people if they had their nose sticking out of their mask, if they didn't have one, if they got close, if they didn't have gloves (early days), etc. But meanwhile kept trying to organize 15+ person gatherings at her household. "Oh its family its ok we know eachother". ThatsNotHowThisWorksMeme.jpg.

Maybe a little bit of me just plain didn't want to go because she was the epitome of the nightmare MIL, but 95% of it was not wanting to go because of COVID.

I occasionally deliver pets to clients houses. I was told to release the dog in the driveway, and the dog will just jump out and run to the door to avoid contact.

Well, he didn't and ran off.

I guess they found him later on, but I had to run as I was on a tight schedule with a truck full of animals in the summer heat
