There are a lot of things that are normal after getting the flu shot.

Some mild flu-like symptoms (mostly fever, aches, fatigue) for a couple days afterward are normal. Having nothing for a week and then having flu symptoms, less so. That was probably a separate infection, unrelated to the flu shot. Most likely it was just a cold or other flu-like illness, since actual influenza infections tend to be worse than just being sick for an evening (though the shot can lessen symptoms).

I think I might had the flu once when I was 6. My mom used to make me get the flu shot and every time I'd get sick.

Even now every few years I forget how sick that shot makes me and I'll get talked into getting one. Fuck the flu shot.

while i understand and i currently feel awful, i do think it should be mandatory, it helps more people than it hurts, ok?
