I want to live on a midsized Yacht. One of between 90 and 130 feet ranges. Enough to be comfortable and be able to travel the seas.

Sadly it's only possible if I win the lottery and spend some time getting investments in place to live off of the interest and gains. Dont think I would ever get in a position to be able to afford it the traditional way.

I want to travel the world. But not like as a tourist. I want to live in different locations for 6 months to a few years to really absorb and experience the culture. Eventually I'll settle down somewhere, but currently I'm comfortable being nomadic. I am already achieving it to some degree. COVID has slowed down things a bit though.

is ot == is not?

cause I have a couple dreams. They're both achievable, but risky and I probably won't really pursue them.

1) making a video game for fun. I don't want to work for a gaming company. The industry is shit, overtime without pay, layoffs. I'm in demand everywhere else so why would I go somewhere that treats me so badly.

2) opening a cafe. Likewise, the food industry in reality is terrible. Bad hours, shit pay, again. If you own it you will surely lose money unless you're lucky.

So. I play with game dev in my free time for fun. I enjoy cooking for friends and family most days of the week and making my own recipes. Professional? Probably won't happen. But I'll keep it a hobby.

I read it as "is it". This is a good question because it totally changes the question depending on what it's supposed to be.

To master everything, which would take many lifetimes. I might be fine if I start by mastering a jutsu that lets me transfer my existence into new bodies or a spell that places pieces of my soul into objects that keep me alive.

As for achievable, idk, maybe having something to do with creating a tv show.

Falling in love. Achieved.

Get a great job where I could use math to have a positive impact on peoples lives. Achieved.

Retire in my 30s. Im on track to have to only work from 27-34. Probably will extend a couple years to have more luxuries.

Travel the world. Not yet started, but Ive traveled most major cities of the USA. My supervisor doesnt allow employee travel.

Produce a music album. Im working on it, been working on it for like a decade now and improving and rewriting. One 24 hour long song chronicling the adventures of Spider-Man. Slowly moving away from Spider-Man to my own character. Prog metalish. Probably will consolidate to 2-3 hours eventually. Havent touched this one for about a year.

Draw and write a comic book. No progress other than slightly increasing drawing skills. Made progress within last year. Probably will tie in with music album.

Live on an island or in a castle. This may not happen, I could afford it if I worked through my 40s but its at odds with my early retirement goals.

Do a handstand. Im getting further away from this being achievable.

The island isn't hard, the castle is more difficult. However, you could kill two birds with one stone if you buy an old island lighthouse and convert the structure into something more castle-like. Otherwise there are lots of smaller islands out there large enough for a small home.

But yeah, islands and castles are something I've thought about as well... although I think I'd more want it as a seasonal home because otherwise the location could be a pain.

34 is on the lean side. Being conservative 750k or 20-30k annual inflation-adjusted spending. 40 on the heavier side, about 1.5M or 40-60k spending. Theres easier, less stressful, and quicker ways than my path.

Really If retired at 34 Id probably still do low key ways of earning and let NW grow to about 1.5M. Like working just 1-3 months a year in my field or private tutor or do seasonal work at a ski lodge, work at a zoo, do a PhD.

Theres definitely some cheapish islands or I could maybe figure out living in Hawaii. The islands do seem like theyd be a pain which makes me still cautious about it. I like the lighthouse idea, I definitely need to look into that.

Also been looking at houses by the water. Theres a mile wide river near me and you can get decent riverfront housing for 200k. Ive seen some very nice 13th floor condos for around 200k in Oklahoma City, I wouldnt mind something like that either. Ive also seen some mansions for 200k, the thing for a cheap-but-cool residence seems to be not being location locked.

Gotcha. Yeah I've thought of doing something similar with "retiring" in my 40s, do like contract work for some of the year and take the rest off.

I wanted to be an astro physicist at one point but ditched that. In terms of material stuff, I too wanted a yacht to sail the globe. I don't think that's ever achievable because your talking many millions of dollars just to buy and maintain that.

In terms of things that could realistically be attained I want to make a successful manga/anime reviewer YouTube channel. The market is kinda saturated with these but at the same time the hunger for such content is only increasing.

On the kinkier side I have been dreaming of a lucrative onlyfans page. Indeed I have been asked by multiple guys to start one for some time. That market is also saturated there since it seems every half decent looking guy/gal is doing it now. Some reek of desperation but some are really good. If you play your cards right you can make loads of cash while having fun. It's just my own reserved/careful personality that gives me pause.

You can sometimes get mansions for cheap, but you might get killed on the property taxes. That's what soured me on buying a very low-priced mansion-esque estate with 6 bedrooms for around $250k or $350k (which down in one of CT's cities and, for CT, is absurdly cheap -- much smaller homes often go for $300-450k).

Hmmm... let's see what I have on my bucket list

Own a house
Get my Master's (not too far from getting this one)
Learn2 ride a motorcycle
Learn2 play the metal guitar
Travel to Rome
Travel to Jordan
Get a GF

I think realistically speaking, I can achieve the travelling goals, Masters, and owning a house within a lifetime. As far as learning goes, I'm 27, so learning new skills is pretty much impossible when I'm that old. And houses are expensive where I live... who knows if I will every make the investment since I could be dead within a decade or so, so that one's kind of iffy. Also the last goal aint ever happening

This, except not spend more than 1 lifetime doing so. I find "just getting an art down" being a good start to any such endeavor, and achieving anything one is comfortable with presenting to the public on a personal level of quality as the next step

Half of that lyrics topic was, obviously, a half-joking attempt at being whack or zany, but effort was still wasted (no one can have my serious content... yet)

I would one day want to be a jack of all entertainment trades. I would start in game dev, as that's always been my first and foremost passion. Everything else would come as I became motivated, satisfied or free enough to carry on from a last project.

Aside from that, on more self-oriented focus
JigsawTDC posted...

Pretty much this, but I don't know how long I'd be settling in any one given place. But I do want to experience all kinds of different geographies and cultures, living in a small damn-near-ghetto neighborhood lost it's thrill a long time ago.

Aside from all this, where the best good ending happens to be one where I am sitting on a chunk of money larger than I would want to spend on myself, or on any unreasonable or unnecessary things (I'd prefer not to waste anything) - PHILANTHROPY.

I emphasize this because at heart I am a generous and good guy. But that doesn't mean I am in a position to make the lives of everyone I come across better. In fact, in shittier times, I'm sure I've accomplished exactly the opposite. I would prefer that I progress to a position where first and foremost, I myself am taken care of, which really doesn't take much more than some basic necessities. That is not an unrealistic goal. After that, I would like to help others in similar circumstances.

As a final boss goal, I would like to start my own country. Or at least own an island or something, whatever, a good chunk of land somewhere. Where we're gonna defy the rest of the world, and show you how it works, with a big middle finger while we're doing it - if you guys don't wake the fuck up.

Eventually, we are going to be invaded by some shithole country on steroids, but we'll kill a few people too, and it'll be their fault, because we will be a country of self-sustainability and peace, and... the rest of the world will continue to meddle in other people's business

if they want to get shot in the face or blown the fuck up.

This, but I honestly doubt it will happen at this point in my life.
And it's possible to do a ton of traveling if you really want to, but that also means leaving everything and everyone else behind.

Owning a home is another big one for me. This will hopefully happen pretty soon. However, I just worry about actually staying in my home state for the rest of my life. Ew...

I did consider game design earlier on in life, marine biology, etc. But currently I'm interested in becoming a streamer or comedian, but the market is so oversaturated.

I'd love to go travelling around the world. More so a road trip around USA. I love travelling but don't do it as much as I'd want. I'd say this goal is a realistic one in my lifetime or at least some of it.
I would also like to have my own family one day and have the finical means to support that lifestyle. This seems less likely to happen for me than the above. Nothing is a guarantee in life save for death so though so who knows?

It's not that I physicaly can't have a child.. but because I have most of the same mental issues that my dad has, I have therefore refused to let my child experience what I did growing up with someone like that.. because when I become ill, I become really ill and the last thing I want in a child is that she is afraid of her father, even though it's not my fault I was born this way and that there is nothing I can do about it...
