When?

I don't remember when we started using the DVD service but my streaming history only goes back to September of 2011.

I watched An Unreasonable Man, a documentary about Ralph Nader <__<

If I had to guess when we started using the DVD service, around 2007 or 2008. First thing I remember getting from them was Spirited Away.

I've never not had Netflix that entire time. So I've been an active Netflix subscriber for at least 12 years

If she says we partied, then I'm pretty sure we partied. I really don't remember. I remember we departed from our bodies.

Richard Pryor, Chappelle, David A. Arnold (a relative newcomer), Eddie Murphy. I like the Dolomite special Eddie Murphy did too. Kat Williams. Many others but that's off the top of my head.

I first got a netflix DVD account in like 2007 or 2008

Before the streaming even existed

One of the earliest things I think I used netflix for was Dexter. I think the show was up to season 4 when I got into it and I watched seasons 1 to 4 within like a month. Would have been faster if they had it on streaming. They added it later though

Considering it wasn't available outside America for like, a decade, especially in other territories, I never did use Netflix but then again never needed to for obvious reasons.

So 2019 is when I actually got a netflix account lol. And you'll never guess the show that got me to finally get an account: Jane the Virgin. Found this show on a whim 2 years ago and decided to watch it and was completely swept away by how bizarrely amazing it was despite the name and premise. Funny, sweet, with amazing performances, and (up to season 4) some surprisingly strong writing, it was definitely worth watching.

All in all, while the price of Netflix has never really been worth it considering its utterly sparse library (especially outside the US and even UK) I will say that it has let me know about amazing shows. Last year when Avatar came to Netflix UK, I had no idea I was about to watch an amazing animated series that was completely after my time.

I want to say maybe 2007? IIRC when I first joined streaming was included with DVDs and wasnt an additional charge. Then they separated both but included a discount if you bundled so I kept both. Then they separated them entirely and I ditched the DVDs for streaming only.

A longtime family friend bought me a subscription so this was back in the day before the streaming era, I believe.

I haven't been a constant member since then, though. I've unsubbed and resubbed several times.
