I think most corporate subsidies are in the form of favorable tax treatment and not as much in transfer payments/refundable credits/loans etc

Corporate welfare needs to end. If your corporation can't make a profit without government hands out then you shouldn't be in business.

The green new deal is full of corporate welfare specifically because we know those industries can't make a profit without it isn't it? In this realm, government should help fund things that have potential good for society, but have a risk structure or a timeline that makes them untenable traditional business ventures.
