Fair, next.

I'm pro-UBI as long as it isn't just the result of raised taxes.

I think most corporate subsidies are in the form of favorable tax treatment and not as much in transfer payments/refundable credits/loans etc

Corporate welfare needs to end. If your corporation can't make a profit without government hands out then you shouldn't be in business.

The green new deal is full of corporate welfare specifically because we know those industries can't make a profit without it isn't it?

I don't think that most people have an issue with subsidies, just what we subsidize specifically? But idk

Yup.

In this realm, government should help fund things that have potential good for society, but have a risk structure or a timeline that makes them untenable traditional business ventures. Things like green energy and basic science.

Then it's just a (probably shady) government contract, and not a sweetheart tax-break or direct subsidy.

I mean, I'm also fine with broader corporate subsidies depending on how you define that

Low income housing tax credit isn't like a great program but I'm not mad about it/don't think it's totally unjustified
