Otherwise, you run the risk of getting compromised by the Scald burn or losing your item, because it'll eat the hit more often than not. There's also stuff like Spectrier and Volc that can sometimes brute force past it with NP/QD since they force it into a position where it has to either Haze or Recover. --- You have the castle, but not the king.
