The individual mandate is bullshit. Universal healthcare should be provided by the gov't.

The carrot option is always preferable to the stick option.

Oh, for sure. I would rather see some sort of universal care as a component of the US health care system. But sometimes we take what we can get while working toward something better.

I'd prefer no solution than a shitty solution right now. At least with no solution we're more flexible in actually instituting UNC, as it stands right now, the ACA is nothing more than a shitty barrier to full UNC.

Pre-existing condition clauses weren't a thing for a lot of insurance plans until the late 80's early 90's. Heck my mom got health insurance a couple of months before I was born and dropped it after they paid the bills. It's one of the reasons why those clauses became a thing.

When America gets Universal Health Care guaranteed it's going to be public dollars paying for private insurance with a public option. US is not going to Medicare for All for decades at least.
