They're living in a whole different world down there. I was wearing my mask and social distancing but literally no one else was. Unless indoors, and even then lots of people had their masks around their chin.

Also I was on south beach and ocean drive (the main strip) was closed off for cars but had literally hundreds of people walking up and down the strip in a huge crowd.

80% of them not wearing mask and most of them tourists who are going to head back home to who knows where. Which won't affect miami's numbers at all but will screw everyone else. The Governor also reopened bars that very weekend.

NO bullshit guys. I saw people packed inside a bar drinking and eating together, no masks on. They left the door open to vent so I guess it's, fine?

The atmosphere down there was SO fucking weird. I was getting funny looks from people for wearing a mask and even getting lightly clowned by my friends for it. It was like the twilight zone. People were crossing the street to avoid my mask

My friends aren't Trumpers either, they were in the protests and voted Biden. They just DON'T believe. However divided they are on politics down in Florida they all seem to agree that COVID is nothing to worry about.

Talk about super spreading events, Miami is a super spreading CITY.

Everyone that doesn't believe in COVID is going down there to escape and have a super spreader vacation. There's like this unspoken vibe down there that it doesn't really exist and it's super infectious. (No pun intended)

Good news is that this was over a month ago and I still haven't shown any symptoms, nor anyone else I've been in contact with.

So either my mask and social distancing worked, or maybe the crazies are right?

Tl;dr: stay the fuck out of Miami. It's the wild wild west of COVID

The concept of being asymptomatic doesn't really register for people that need to see illness to take it seriously. Just to explain why some people were avoiding you on the street.

From Maryland but I live in DC rn.

Here in Vegas bars, if you're not siting down at the bar or a table, you have to wear a mask.
They're strict about it and will kick you out of you don't.

This is true. I live in bumfuck TN and most places I go wearing a mask I get the stink eye and maybe one other couple or family have masks on. It's like 75% to 90% maskless in my experience.

My friends talked me into it. They live very free and had me feeling like a pussy if I didn't go.

There is no virus in the south. I was alarmed when I first moved down here but I've gotten used to it and I'm glad they aren't doing lockdowns.

That's the thing, I had an incredible time down in Miami and it was nice to get away but it really makes you wonder if we're ever gonna beat this

I went to TN this past summer and was legit ridiculed by a tour bus speaker while walking on the sidewalk with a mask on and teased by a couple people in another spot.
