Ive heard a few survivors of massive trauma explain that its not really what happens to you that matters, but how you respond to it. Theres a former prisoner of war who lived through some hellish conditions, but he claimed that he wouldnt change the past because it made him a better person. Meanwhile, I literally watched a guy at the mall go into a meltdown and start yelling at an old lady because she got his order wrong at Taco Bell.

It really depends on perspective and personal experience. 10 years ago I would have agreed with the statement, but now I just want to run away to live by myself in solitude to prevent anymore pain. Ive been through too much and im only 32 years old. Im fully aware some people would laugh at the fact a 32 year old can feel this way, but I dont care, I carry my weight the way I do for my personal reasons.
