I never played any of the DLCs and I did want at some day in the future to replay them and this time with FemShep and Renegade (no idea why I went Paragon...this is so much not me lol)
So this is a good opportunity, but I don't find it "exciting"
It's just better than nothing I guess

I hope they do more for this than was done for the Mario ports. Honestly I don't get why fans have been begging for this for years, it's cool for new players or people who want access for a replay on current gen but like... it's just the same games again. Unless they properly remade ME1 I probs won't bother.

Fans want it so they can play in on a console they still own with all the DLC which they may or may not have played. I don't know why Mass Effect is the series people think is weird to ask for HD ports of.

Oh I get people wanting it on current gen, I guess I just don't get why it's a big deal. Other series ported their entries over without making anywhere near this much of a fuss. It's not like old Bioware is suddenly back or anything.

I feel like the biggest thing people would want in an update is fixing ME2 where you can recruit everyone right away instead of being a 2 disc game.

I assume that is unlikely

The games run poorly on PS3 without any option to play them on PS4. The only way to play them at a locked 30fps on consoles is (at the moment) an Xbox One X, which few people have. The DLC rarely goes on sale and combined will cost about as much as this remaster.

There's fantastic PC mods - controller support, high res textures, etc - but not everyone plays on PC.

Preorders are up. Won't be buying this until the PS5 enhancements are patched in, though. Seems they won't be there at launch.

Give it Steam Achievements

The current trilogy doesn't have that because it was a Origin release

Yeah I guess I didn't realise how hard it was to play these on current gen, I went through them all a bunch of times when they came out and haven't felt the urge to go back. Still don't get why it's taken EA so long.

I know they won't be grounds-up remaking 1 ( :( ) but I still hope they add some features that were cut in the past. Like Dr Football said making ME2's characters recruitable in any order would be best, there are so many cool Legion scenes that you can't access through normal means. Or making a more explicit EDI reference into that moon mission in ME1, or Cerberus in general. Or adding the same-sex romances into the early games that were taken out 'for time constraints' (lol sure) back in the day. They made the old squadmates playable again in an optional part in Citadel, if they expand that so you can put them in your whole game that'd be nice too.

But yeah I'm just expecting better resolution or whatever, in which case I won't bother.

I don't know why people expect substantial changes to the base game with these HD ports. The goal is just accessibility. There probably isn't any dialogue for Thane, Legion, or Samara for the first part of the game, so that's probably not a viable thing.

They do have dialogue for that stuff in the original game files! There's various videos showing Samara/Legion etc with dialogue in the early missions.

Just wait for the PS5 enhancements. They won't miss an opportunity to get microtransactions from ME. Especially considering people actually enjoyed ME multiplayer.
