I recall Trump saying "don't use drugs, never used drugs" and his story about Fred but I just really don't see how this is a realistic statement with respect to his purported "bigly lifestyle" and earnings. Or maybe it was that he said he doesn't drink? But either way, you got all these lavish accomplishments or undertakings and you're gonna tell me he never sat down and did a line, smoked a doober, had a drink, but totally associated with some people who would?

Past recreational activity, I also don't see how he realistically does all his Presidential duties, deal with all of the stress, and not have been recommended to or fed some kind of uppers for performance and downers for downtime.

Not that this would be any information the public has too much business in having detail of, but as Biden himself would say

come on man

On the chance he actually doesn't take psychoactive/mood altering substances, I'd be surprised for his honesty I guess, I just don't see it as realistic, and we all know meds are still drugs too

I forgot where it was but they talked about how he was being given medical grade speed in the guise of weight loss supplements.

Yeah well that's been the GOP's mantra for over 50 plus years or to be honest ever since the Voting Rights Act was passed in the mid 1960s which allowed Black people to vote something that they should have had a right to do from the start but we all know why that happened.

Now, here's the thing and this won't sit well with most people here but the Republicans and Democrats understand what America really is. It's not pretty, and they know it. America is and always has been a slave colony and no one can argue that and Whites won't accept it because it doesn't affect us as it does people of color. American beginning in those Colonies was embedded with White Supremacy at its core and the Founding Fathers cemented that with those 3 documents. Keep in mind the first Immigration Law in 1791 stated America was a place for any White person who was of Good Moral Character so the foundation was laid.

Lets admit at the outset that the Democrats are a sad, uncreative bunch seemingly dead set against creating enthusiasm. Their argument this election cycle revolves around the assertion that votes for them rather than deceptive, malevolent, conservative champions Donald Trump, Mitch McConnell and their confederates will return the country to normalcy. Flip side the GOP is just as bad as the Dems with the difference being they use racism and greed as their core basis for all that do.

Both Democrats and Republicans are reluctant to admit America is not the idyllic shining city on the hill, but a modern Babylon rife with greed, violence, human exploitation and depravity.

Despite their nasty inclinations and political gangsterism, it is intellectually lazy to argue Trump, McConnell and politicians of their ilk are the creators of our problems. They are the products of them. It cannot be overstated that these people do not elect themselves. American citizens choose, support, encourage and love them as they attempt to ensure continued majority group dominance. History teaches us that such cruelty is not new.

Mired in their own racism, the Founding Fathers had difficulty grappling with the central place of White Supremacy in the fabric of the country. Even if they acknowledged it (and some did), it was impossible for them to predict the evolving nature of racism on Americas landscape over time, challenges citizens would mount to destroy it, or the unrelenting attempts by members of the majority to maintain what they see as their God-given place of dominance in the country.

Racism does not stand alone as an intractable ill plaguing America. The country is also ravaged by obsessions with entertainment, unbridled greed, selfishness and shallowness. We no longer demand that our leaders possess superior character and vision. We now celebrate mediocrity.

Even though Americans say they value education, they do not because the country is intractably anti-intellectual. As a result, our educational systems have crumbled (because the bottom line is. America never wanted non-Whites to get an education) because we have largely divested at the federal, state and local levels. For the most part, Americans have no sense of history and, therefore, continue to pass off fantasies as fact.

Many lies have bled from history to the present. Republicans across the country paint their opponents as extreme and progressive when they know theyre really status-quo moderates. They constantly play to racial fear. They hold onto lies such as the Confederacys Lost Cause arguments when the revolt was really rooted in slavery. They are silent when armed supremacists and nationalists are dispatched to protect Confederate statues knowing they have always been reaffirmations of white supremacy.

They push unquestioning support of police no matter how many people they wrongfully kill, because the dark hordes must be controlled. Otherwise, mayhem will ensue. You will be accosted, robbed and maybe killed. White women will be snatched off the streets and your beautiful suburbs will be destroyed. This has been the narrative in America for a long time especially when slavery ended. We have to get them before they get us has been the battle cry which has led to mass incarcerations of people of color.

They argue those who protest to force the acknowledgement of all citizens humanity are actually violent mobs even though research has proven more than 93% of protests have been completely peaceful. Meanwhile, they refuse to acknowledge the enduring repression that birthed the resistance movements in the first place and call upon the state to use violence, which they claim to abhor, to crush the protests. Ironically, they do it all in the name of freedom, peace, law and order.

This isnt about what America claims to be, wants to be or can be. This is about what America actually IS at this moment in time. It is not pretty and Republicans know it. They know there exists a modern majority faction that has devolved into non-reading, incurious, inflexible, simple-minded nativists glorifying a backward and largely repugnant view of the world and they use it.

There is a certain madness that comes from being a thing and then denying with your last breath that you are that thing.

If I am an alcoholic but I refuse to believe that ........ even when people around me see it that puts me in denial because I'd rather be in denial than face the real issue and deal with it.
