The E-mails are so like "Hey pal! We're so great that we've decided to freeze your payment while we're closed because we're so charitable! But we've just been overwhelmed by the thousands upon thousands of messages we have received from members offering to re-instate their monthly payments anyway during these extraordinary times. Here's links where you can pay us anyway even though we're closed and pages of people talking about how amazing they are and how easy it is for them to pay the measly pittance we charge for membership.

The positivity and empathy we have received towards our staff has been absolutely incredible, and just reminds us of what a fantastic community of members we have. Would be a shame if a loser like you ruined our amazing community by not paying us for nothing despite us being so kind and generous to you because we're so fucking great. You're not an evil satanist are you? Are you :o!?"

It's like Jesus Dude. They can't try to make you feel guilty for not paying them for literally nothing. Shut the fuck up.

The ultimate irony is you might have opted to keep paying them because you want to support your local gym but the passive aggressive bullshit messages they keep sending in weak manipulation attempts have made you just go "Well fuck you then"

Kinda sucks anyway because (not their fault at all) even outside of Lockdown the Gym used to be 24/7 which I loved. Now because of covid it's like 8AM to 8PM which is pooey. So I was paying for a gym I could hardly use.

It's weird too because at like 6PM there's 67 sweaty dudes all working out on top of each other

But at 2AM? There's like 3 people in the entire gym, how is that not Covid safe?

They make it more unsafe and dangerous by limiting opening times because you funnel people in together. Conservatives really have no idea about fitness and woring out at all and should never govern it.

How do you react? What do you do?

my gym franchise said theyre going to keep charging customers $3 a week during lockdown to keep the business alive

My gym restarted monthly payments without much of a notice. I didn't like that at all. I cancelled.

Now I've spent $1300 on my own home gym and plan to spend a lot more money on it over the coming years. I always really hated dealing with crowds at the gym anyways. Having a home gym set up is pretty awesome.

my account was frozen for like, one month, after two months into lockdown. before that i was saving points for some perks like a free group lesson or free tanning beds for when they would open up again... sorry its not me running to the gym the virus is still here.

they still charged me after opening in june until my yearly subscription ran out, and the only way i could cancel it was by actually going there to cancel it digitally anyways. for some reason they were still legally able to charge me for another two months

in my experience gyms are super greedy and sneaky in ways to steal ur wallet so i was not surprised i also got emails about optionally paying them lol
