When the majority of votes are counted

the election has never been called on Election Day though in the US, thats a misconception because the major TV networks declare a presumptive winner based on the info they have

realistically it will probably take a couple weeks to really know

There's a chance we could know by Wednesday if Biden is going to win. There's also a chance things get drawn out and we won't know for a while, because some states in Biden's multiple paths to victory cannot start counting absentee ballots until tomorrow.

Nancy Pelosi will probably be president for a little while based on how everyone seems ready to contest things. The only way I could see Biden taking the reins in January is if it's such an overwhelmingly embarrassing defeat for Trump that there's no way anyone can dispute it.

Considering they're east coast (should be in early) and swing states worth a lot of votes each, I think PA, GA, and NC are key to look at. If Biden gets all 3 or even 2 of 3, we're probably gonna be ok.
Florida going to Biden would single handedly end things, but I will never count on FL to actually have their shit figured out by the end of the night.

Texas comes later and if Biden wins it, presumably he won a shit load of swing states east of it before then, cause holy shit it's literally Texas.

In Pennsylvania, Democrats accounted for a massive 68% of the 2.3 million returned mail ballots, more than three times the 22% made up by Republicans. (Pennsylvania does not have traditional in-person early voting but does have early in-person absentee voting.)
Because of the disparity in Pennsylvania, Trump is likely to jump out to a large lead on election night as in-person Election Day results, likely to favor him, are posted. Biden probably will begin erasing the gap as absentee ballots are tallied, which could take days because Pennsylvania does not start processing them until Election Day.
"In a place like Pennsylvania, what he'll need to do from a turnout perspective will be substantial," perhaps topping Biden by 45 percentage points in Election Day voting, Bonier said of Trump. "In others states, like Florida, where there has been more of a Republican turnout operation and they've been able to take advantage of early in-person voting, the margins will certainly be less than that."

Ugh... they don't start the count till election day. So I guess if on election night, the race in PA is close, then Biden probably wins it due to the giant mass of absentee ballots waiting to be counted that Biden won by a 3-to-1 margin (you know, unless a lot of those Democrat voter ballots are from "left-leaning centrists")

I think never is a valid answer here. We might never know the results for sure, and whatever poor SOB gets picked for the job could have a bigger albatross around his neck than Bush ever did. We've had ballot box fires, a biased supreme court, and DHS agents on tape conspiring a literal coup if they don't like the election results (their own wording, not mine).
