Board 8 > Turns out there's an N-Gage emulator now. Elder Scrolls: Shadowkey is playable

Goes by the name of EKA2L1. The sound is rather buggy, but otherwise Shadowkey seems to run nicely.

So if there's anyone else who's been waiting years for a chance to play this, or any of the handful of other alleged hidden gems doomed to obscurity by being on the infamous tacophone, now's your chance!

Now if I can just figure out how to get hold of that Metal Gear Mobile game...

that's kind of amazing, though depressing. N-Gage ultimately was just way too ahead of its time, Nokia was right on the trend but were way too early.

Well, I've done some more testing (and found the compatibility tracker on the project's github), and it looks like there's not a lot of games in a playable state. I guess the developers knew Shadowkey was the only N-Gage game most people care about and focused on it.

In other words, we're still waiting on that mass Board 8 playthrough of Operation Shadow.

Did you actually try Operation Shadow? The compatibility Github only lists it as bootable so I assume one can't get very far before it falls over.

^I believe it's technically booting, in the sense that loads and then crashes rather than crashing during loading.

Then again, they say that Pathway to Glory is playable and I can't get that going either, so I may be doing something wrong.

The overall project is active. The codebase is still getting daily updates. Operation Shadow likely isn't a priority so it isn't clear when they will get it working.

This has made me was to look into the n gage

The original phone's taco-shaped design was considered awkward: to insert a game, users had to remove the phone's plastic cover and remove the battery compartment as the game slot was next to it
