This topic is full of super old accounts with low AMP getting riled up and being blatantly Islamophobic. Wheres this energy when white supremacists attack and kill people in the streets and shoot up mosques? What about when a white supremacist shot up a Black church? You guys seem really worried that Christians are prosecuted but dont give a fuck when its violent white supremacists doing the prosecution. You all can stop pretending that youre doing this in good faith and then we can have an actual discussion.

People defend Islam for culturally restraining women to wearing burqas and that is very much a reality in numerous islamic countries

People attack Christianity for unfruitful attempts to overturn roe v wade

There are many people who believe both of these things at the same time. There is a big difference between women having the ability to choose to have an abortion or not and women being forced to wear burqas.

Burqas are just one part of a massively patriarchal society btw. I wouldn't get hung up on that specific part. It isn't like they force women to wear burqas and then otherwise women are seen as 100% equal to men. It extends well beyond a burqa.

The "freedom" to wear a burqa lol wtf. There is a difference between the burqa and the hijab.

In all honesty, why care that much about being modded on this site? Getting a post deleted or being suspended isn't a very big deal.

I'd rather try and say what I want to say in the most diplomatic way possible and if I go over a line then I will try to understand that and better work within the constraints in the future.

No one ever condones an attack like this, but they "understand" the frustration of the perpetrators and why many who are a part of Islam would take such great offense and how horrible it was that Mohammed was depicted in such a way. Then they mention the people who were killed like an after thought.

I don't know what to tell you.

I went to a very liberal Big Ten college. I was a psych major. I participated in tons of discussions on this stuff. In French class we had to watch a bunch of stuff on how the hijab was banned in public schools in France. I participated in many large group and small group discussions on this stuff. I heard people say tons of things of the sort.

I'm not sure why everyone is acting like I need evidence of social media posts for this to be true. I get that not everyone went to the same liberal college and pursued the same liberal degree that I got.

If it isn't clear by now I'm a very liberal person and LGBT. I will be voting democrat across the board next week.

Still, Islam and Christianity both have a long list of things about them that are problematic, but I have very serious levels of frustration with liberal people who constantly try to bOtH sIdEs their way out of acknowledging any differences between Islam and Christianity.

They certainly have more freedom to leave once they're in America or other Western nations.

I do know some Muslim born people in America who like to drink and eat pork and need to keep that away from their parents out of fear of being disowned. I don't mean that lightly either.
