The man who stabbed two women and a man to death in a church in France arrived from Tunisia days ago, officials say.

The suspect, 21, had an Italian Red Cross document, issued after he arrived by a migrant boat to Italy's Lampedusa island last month. He was shot by police and is in a critical condition.

A Koran, two telephones and a 30cm (12-inch) knife were found on the attacker, said French chief anti-terrorist prosecutor Jean-Franois Ricard.

"We also found a bag left by the attacker. Next to this bag were two knives that were not used in the attack," he added.

Police sources named the attacker as Brahim Aouissaoui.

Two other attacks took place on Thursday, one in France and one in Saudi Arabia.

A man was shot dead in Montfavet near the southern French city of Avignon after threatening police with a handgun.

A guard was attacked outside the French consulate in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. A suspect was arrested and the guard taken to hospital.

Interesting question you asked, and I as a muslim will say that no, I do not care about how the drawings of Prophet Mohammad are depicted. I don't find them offensive because such things doesn't change my perspective and I cannot change others' perspective either regarding religion.

If I were at that muslim's place in school, I may have argued at best but would never seek violence as a way to stop this. I am a peace lover who likes getting along with people of different religions and cultures. I too condemn the act that some of these muslims have committed. The killer imo deserved to die because he chose violence instead of voice. Not to mention that committing such acts just bolsters Islamophobia even further.

I am an Aga Khani muslim btw who are considered as the peaceful community in Islam. We have festivals based on other religions as well, for example we celebrate Easter, we have Indian traditions and also celebrate Eid which is the muslim festival. The radical muslims hate us too just because our practices are completely different from theirs. I was even called traitor in my own class many times because of this so yeah, radical muslims are totally insane and beyond our reach.

There are a lot of core tenants in Christianity that society does not allow. ie- almost the entirety of old testament laws.

from skimming the article, a lot of the changes that the NT took on from the OT after Christianity splintered from Judaism seemed to have happened internally from its texts and leaders, not something modern society had any influence in.
